I have Photoshop, PSP and Serif ImpactPlus 5
I wish to create what seems to me to be a basic task.   I need to have several different shapes, one of which I could describe as a puddle of water with a dry patch in the middle.   The main thing is that the 'puddle' would be textured and the smooth contour would have lighting from about 'five o-clock'.
Can anyone please help as I urgently need to complete a project.
Kind regards and thank you in advance.

are the elements you've listed in 3D?
what i mean are they pieces being added to a render?
or are they simple shapes without transparency (solid color)?

quickest way to help you is if you could post some of the parts in this thread so we can see what you mean to do...

Hi,
Simple shapes.   If you can imagine the shape of a doughnut laying flat on the ground.   What I would like to do is to give the surface an appearance of oil whilst at the same time giving it some depth so that the side can be seen.
Hope that this is understandable
Cheers
Peter

Attached Link: Eye Candy: Impact (includes bevel)

If you're after a cartoony version then something like "bevel boss" is a good place to start. There's a 30 day trial of the filter at the Alien Skin site.
