I’m on the fence still... can someone who has purchased the V4 morphs post a few examples of the body morphs set at 1? I use morphs like Pear Figure, Thin, Young, Heavy, and Fitness and would like to see what they look like, particularly the larger body styles that were so poorly done in V3. I would also like to see the breast morph BreastsSize at the largest and smallest (maybe negative?) settings. I wish DAZ had posted a better image of the included morphs. The little flash scrolling image leaves a lot to be desired.
pjz99 posted Sat, 09 December 2006 at 3:54 PM
I can do that... I'll stick a bunch of images into one jpeg and post it here in a little bit.
pjz99 posted Sat, 09 December 2006 at 4:12 PM
hmm I have the screenshots but it's going to be a pain to paste them into one image, if you give me your email address via sitemail I can just email a .zip of them all... I loaded 3 figures and left one at default for reference, got all the morphs you're asking for on the other two with one of them at 90 degress for perspective.

Sent, enjoy - gave you a bonus of BreastsLarge + BreastsNatural, because frankly V4's mams don't look all that great with the sliders up (but I'm not into that gigantic breasts thing anyway). Min size they actually look pretty attractive.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't offer more of a breasts gone morph. Pjz99, did you notice anything like that? I often morph V3 completly flat chested and grow her breasts into her final breast size when I use dynamic clothing like tee shirts that aren't cut to fit breasts.

No such morph exactly, but you can combine BreastsSize -1 and BreastsLarge -.2 (the min) and get pretty close to the ribcage, or I suppose you could just ignore limits.
whoopy2k posted Sat, 09 December 2006 at 4:56 PM
I'll have to give that a try once buy the figure. I do find it annoying how hard DAZ works to cut off anything that MIGHT be used to make figures look younger than 18 (21 in some states). My GF is pretty small up there with a bit of a baby face... if I posted pics of her in the gallerys I wonder if I'd get flagged for a TOS violation. Oh well... this will probably just be something else to learn to deal with. Looks like the larger sizes look great. I only use those in 10% of my work but I'm sure that's flipped for most of the posters.

pjz99 posted Sat, 09 December 2006 at 7:49 PM
I could if I was not at work for the next ten hours... The feet I'm pretty pleased with, I like the way they are sized and shaped by default but the morphs for the feet seem quite a bit more flexible and extensive than V3. I'm not able to get to Poser from work, so I can't help you with pics right now unfortunately.

Note that Gazukull brought over a link for a pose file that unlocks the scaling, I have it and it works pretty well as far as I can tell:
Quote - DavidGB
Over at daz forums posted this. Hacked cr2 with scaling revealed.http://www.david.eaton.ukgateway.net/RevealScaleDials.zip

So while there are morphforms that allow gross resizing of hands and feet, you can also further change shape and size of all the body parts on an individual basis with that pose file. And the morphforms are pretty clean and easy to use, I like that change a lot.
nakamuram posted Sat, 09 December 2006 at 9:04 PM
Thanks coldrake and pjz99. The scaling will certainly help and hopefully it won't mess up the Joint Paramerters. I'll play with it, though DAZ must have had a reason for hiding the scaling dials...
lkendall posted Sat, 09 December 2006 at 9:52 PM

On Poser 6, I don't know about earlier versions, there is an dark arrow point to the right of the dials on the "Parameter Dials" menu. Right click this arrow and choose "Settings". This will give you a popup box where you can change settings for the dial, incuding "Min Limit:" and "Max Limit:". With this you can adjust the limits beyond what the figure's author set them to. You might try this to see if you can flatten V4's breasts even more than;
"but you can combine BreastsSize -1 and BreastsLarge -.2 (the min) and get pretty close to the ribcage, or I suppose you could just ignore limits."
Try this and let us know if this works with V4, "Complete" Morphs, and Poser.
Thanks,

Looks pretty good to me :) Did you position the hands manually or have you been getting much use out of the extra hand grip sliders? I hadn't gotten a chance to fiddle with those yet.
carodan posted Sat, 09 December 2006 at 10:20 PM
Bit of both. One thing I have found is that the thumb and fingers groups can't be selected in the preview screen - you have to use the bodyparts dropdown. It was more of an issue for the thumbs than the fingers.
The hand grip sliders are useful, but individual positioning of fingers is a must.

I just tried PhilC's "Better Hand Posing" from Poser Tool Box, on V3. It works very well. I tried scaling the feet as well. It also works well. You have to use the same Z-scaling on the feet and toes, or you get an offset foot.
I guess I'll buy V4 Complete.

I am checking this now and I don't have any trouble selecting thumb and finger joints in preview. I have no idea whatsoever why it would give you trouble there, that's pretty strange. I've tried all joints of fingers and thumb and I don't see that problem.

nice stormchaser. I would not go as thin in the torso as you, but I 'get it.' She does not look distorted either. Great legs!
notice the inner elbow? They have definitely attempted to make better deformation there. It still looks off, but compared to the pitiful bend there on V3, this is acceptable. We don't have the muscle morphs yet, right? When those arrive, I'd bet she could be really fine-tuned, or fine-toned if you will.
V4 may well be a workable model for a serious film project.

The muscle morphs for V4 are out now. They are in the form of Vittorio. You get a new cr2 for Vittorio but the morphs themselves can be injected into V4 as well. I haven't tried it yet but Vittorio looks amazing!!
This is my version of Vittorio. Tweaked quite a bit including scaling the hands and feet up a little bit more as well as the head slightly. The shoulders are a bit off and I need to do some renders to send to Jim so he can look at them a bit and see what's up.

RAMWolff - Thanks for your comment, yes I think she does look sexy & also looks like she could have the body of GND, no major morphing was needed. I will attempt to re-create my character, please Daz give me the face morphs because I can give her a better body than the original.
BTW RAMWolff, great what you did with Vittorio, you may have brought me round to wanting to buy him, the muscles look really cool. I don't normally create male figures so I could do with one. You say you can inject the the morphs into V4, I wonder how they'd look?
pjz99 posted Mon, 11 December 2006 at 4:21 PM
It's a bit tough to get her arms and legs to show definition but I'm really, really happy with about everything else. The feet are great, the hands are great, and Stormchaser I see you like the lovely little AreolaPerk even more than I do ;)
And unless I miss my guess you made her a good bit shorter than default didn't you?
operaguy posted Mon, 11 December 2006 at 4:28 PM
Ramwolff, have you tried injecting the vittorio muscle morphs into V4 and using them to give her arms more tone -- not 'bulk', just tone?
Also, can the Vittorio figure be dialed down to look like a regular man, you know, not a weght-lifter?

**Yes, I love this little dial!! I wanted to do this shape with V3 but I could never get it to look realistic with the chest dials we had. I tended to use the NGM alot for realism, really good & natural. I've sent a PM to Posermatic to see if we can get a version for V4.
**
"And unless I miss my guess you made her a good bit shorter than default didn't you?"
Actually, no I didn't. But you're right, she does seem a little shorter, it must be an illusion!
pjz99 posted Mon, 11 December 2006 at 4:56 PM
I made Kaballah quite a bit shorter, default V4 is still around 5'11" or 6'. The character I'm working on is down around 5'5". Got another render collage coming up in a few minutes that shows off how tough the joints can be, I'm really impressed.
And PS Ramwolff I absolutely love your Vittorio, I will be picking that figure up too, probably tomorrow after I get some Zs (up about 10 hours past my bed time hehe)
Klutz posted Mon, 11 December 2006 at 5:01 PM

Here's another go at Vittorio. This is using the bump vein maps. In DAZ Studio I had to set up these maps on BOTH the Bump and Displacement channels to get them to really pop from this distance. Set them 100% each and both Min values set to -0.10 and Max values set to 0.50 for Displacement and 0.050 for Bump.
With him really jacked up like this I can see a bit of separation at the shoulders though!

All of Vittorio's morphs work on V4. For those that want a slimmer V4, inject the "to v4" morph into V4, and dial it to -.5. It'll take her halfway between Vittioria and V4, and gives a more athletic, less busty look.

One thing I would like in your update pdxjims - apparently when you load Vittorio's morph, it removes or hides certain materials groups, one of which is either Nostril or Nostrils. I use Ambient Occlusion to kill things like nostril glow, and apparently both material groups need it to completely kill the glow. If you could back that out that would be great, even if you're not putting any texture in that zone.
