Well, I caved and got "Vickie'd Up"
So far all I did was spin up her facial morphs to see if it is easy to turn her into another character. These three images are the beginning of the results.
So far, I hold that V4 is a serious professional model. The arms, shoulders and bending are the best so far in my opinion, outside of Apollo/Apollina. V4 has problems....but....progress has been made.
These renders are in Poser6 (My P7 has not yet arrived)

(ah there they are)
I see you got further with her eyes than most people have seemed to so far. Looks like you're having a ball :) Very happy myself too, just a great Poser figure.

YOW!! I really love the mouth area, it really sets the face beautifully!...I wish you had a gallery here, so I can see more of your work, as I really loved your V3 animation, many moons back!

Yep I agree with you...
I think she is a very good base figure for realistic characters.
BTW
Nice work, OG! ;0)

Unfortunately DAZ now develops figures which are better adapted to the DAZ software than to Poser 5 and higher versions. Therefore major problems occur when using such figures and you need extra care to save your files. Not a serious model in my eyes!
coldrake posted Sun, 17 December 2006 at 1:12 PM
The only "extra care" you need is to uncheck the "Use external binary morph target" Coldrake
operaguy posted Sun, 17 December 2006 at 7:23 PM
the point has been made also that to move a scene up to Vue or 3DS Max, etc., for power render, you can't send it with external binary morph targets. No other software understands them. V4 is intended for Daz Studio, yes, but also for Poser, Vue, Max, Maya, etc.
A serious model.

The face looks very good until you start trying to make her look like someone else who has little divit line thingy in the middle of their lips etc, then you see there are many lip morphs missing that were in V3. The morphing brush helps but not totally. Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

Philtrum, and there are four philtrum morphs for V4 in the "Lower Face" section. Perhaps not with the base package....I have the full package. I use the philtrum morphs, always, and just for the purpose you stated; they are good for making your character look fresh.

Where is Apollina? Did Anton do another figure?
operaguy posted Mon, 18 December 2006 at 2:57 AM
Attached Link: Link to carodan, creator of Apollina at RDNA
Check out one of my favorite 3D people, Dan Rose (carodan) over at RDNA. He is using the given morphs to create a female morph set from Apollo into Apollina.:: og ::

If you look more carefully at the threads in the DAZ forum you will notice how many people with higher Poser versions have bugs with V4. And I am not even talking about this file saving thing!
coldrake posted Mon, 18 December 2006 at 3:19 PM
BrightArro, could you be specific, or provide some links? Other than the "file saving thing" I couldn't find any, and I looked very carefully. Coldrake

The" Edit -> General preferences -> Misc Tab -> uncheck use external binary morph targets" doesnt work for me, I cannot load the saved files anymore. It has something to do with the paths that are saved uncorrectly. I know this because if I load it in Poser 6 then he too does not find the correct files.
But I have other probles, I tried Talk designer but it does not work for V4 ov V3, and even when I try it on the Poser native characters the system hangs.
So I tried Mimic pro, but those generated files also crashes the Poser 7 while the Poser 6 accepts it. I still wonder if V4 can be used with Mimic Pro?
Except for these small silly things, everything is great.
Gongyla posted Mon, 18 December 2006 at 4:05 PM
Well, I use V4 in C4D with interPoserPro, and I don't have real problems. She loads, morphs and poses with no real problems. Some dials don't work - magnets aren't implemented yet - but there are always soft selections and weighted vertexmaps to cope with that.
coldrake posted Mon, 18 December 2006 at 4:17 PM
obaeyens, the ones you've already saved won't work. You'll have to start with a new file. Coldrake
operaguy posted Mon, 18 December 2006 at 4:20 PM
yes, the old damaged ones are dead. I have one that has 15 hours of work in it. I wonder what I could get for it on EBay?
