Can someone tell us how you go about creating the look of veins beneath the skin on m3?

Hi darth,

The way I paint veins is to get a texture then duplicate it as a new layer in Photoshop and reduce the opacity, then make another new layer that I paint veins on and basically sandwhich that in between the original texture and the copy of the original at lower opacity. It kind of looks like the veins are under a layer of skin then.

Hope that helps a bit.

Cheers

Best way would be to create a displacement map. Whether there are any decent ones out there in freebies or market place is beyond me, but if all else fails, you'd probably have to learn how to make your own.

That's assuming you mean the bumps in the skin that show veins, of course. If you're talking about the bluish coloration you getwhen the veins are near the surface, then there may be a procedural method for adding them to your existing colour texture map. Failing that, it's adding them in in photoshop or other image eidting software.

Sorry can't be of much more help than this,
