Having never dealt with a lithium battery before do I have to wait until the battery is completly drained before I recharge or can I jsut pop it out when it is low? read thru my Oly manual and it didnt say.

You could recharge it when ever you want. Just make sure its in a well ventilated place so it doesn't over heat and catch fire. Batteries have a limited amount of recharge cycles after which it needs a replacement.

Question the question. Answer the question. Question the answer...

I wish I knew what I was gonna say :oP

If you always have two (or more) batteries at hand, you could wait until one is completely drained before putting in an other one. However, there's a big BUT here: working with an almost empty battery can cause your camera to malfunction... while you're transferring images to your computer, for example. This could lose you some valuable images..! Running out of power while formatting your storage card could even damage the card..! Bottomline: once you see that your battery is running (almost) empty, you better replace it or recharge it. It will probably shorten the battery's life, but it's safer that way...

If you are using canon batteries on an SLR like BP series for DSLR you should not let them discharge as this will shorten the life of them... These batteries do not have memory problems like on some mobile phones, and can be topped up at any time, to keep them in prime condition... If you are using a bettery Grip, it is worth noting that the batteries when fitted in pairs will discharge at different rates, unless they are both exactly the same power, if not the higher rated one will discharge first...
