I am using Vue 6 Esprit on a P4 3.2 GHz w/ 4GBs of RAM, plenty of power. 5 times I have tried to group a couple of terrains, approx. 1,900 polygons each, and everytime Vue has crashed. I did a test where I started a new scene with nothing in it and then put 2 spheres in the scene, when I tried to group them, "CRASH", is this a known bug that there may be a patch coming out for SOON??? Or is there something I am missing. Also, while I have you here, why I am not able to render at sizes above 3000x2250. Everytime I have tried Vue says it encountered a fatal error and needs to close, Out Of Memory, LOL!!! Memory is NOT the problem with my computers. I use Bryce 5.5, 6 & Terragen Classic & T2 and I normally render at 4000x3000 with no problems whatsoever. Please help!!!

Vue 6 esprit on an AMD X2 4400 w/ 2GB RAM.
I just created 3 groups of 20 objects with no problems at all and have created larger groups of trees when creating complex renders without any trouble at all. I also just tried rendering at 4000x3000 with user settings (46% quality) as a test and that was fine too. So it looks like its a localized problem with either your installation or your system.
Have you checked your RAM for errors with Memtest? Also, what OS are you using? Anything less than Win64 can only access 2GB of RAM so unless you are using a 64bit OS and the 64bit version of Vue then the extra RAM is not being used.

Correct on the RAM in Win XP Pro 32, only 2 GBs of RAM can be accessed per application. That's still 2GBs of RAM. PC 5400 667 MHz speed on it. There is a guy at Conucopia says he has the same problem with the grouping, so I opened a ticket on it and I hope it will be resolved, cause I am really liking Vue. Thanks Steve, I really appreciate it : ^ D

Yes, this seems to be a bug in Vue6, i have the same in Vue6 esprit and reported it .
The same crash is hapening when trying to make a boolean object, altough one can import groups and booleans made in Vue5 without any problem. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Yeah it's definitely a problem, when you want to move a couple or three objects as a group to keep the same general shape and it crashes, Geeezz. Hope it's fixed Very Soon!!!

at e-onsoftware website there is an update available for Vue6 Esprit , build nr 288792.
Just downloaded it and installed it. A quick check at grouping and booleans learned that Vue6 didn't crash any more when creating a group or boolean.

That explains it then, I updated to that version as soon as I downloaded esprit and so far (touch wood), I haven't had a single crash.
