First, have a look at what the model can do.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX8rANXd3Jc
The whole firing action, which includes the tracers, belt feed, ejecting shells and moving firing lever are all controlled by one dial, and the action is animated by a highly modified version of the tank track programming. It all sounds very complicated, but it is the easiest animation you will ever do. To animate a ten second scene is very complicated. Here is what you have to do:
If your animation is 300 frames, set the Fire dial on zero for the first frame, and 30 for the last frame.
That is it, and you have a ten second animation of a Browning machine gun firing. We tried to make it more complicated, so we included a few other options, which will allow you to mount this Browning on ships, vehicles, walls, etc.
Here is an extract from the readme:
If your animation is 300 frames, set the Fire dial on zero for the first frame, and 30 for the last frame.
Set its animation timeline to linear, not spline.
Speeding up the animation may give you a more realistic rate of fire, but this will seem to skip frames and may at certain speeds make the animation look like it is going in reverse, but this is an optical illusion, such as when wheels seem to be turning backwards at certain speeds.
If anyone runs into any problems, and needs some help, just give me a shout.

Thank you Helgard for heads up. I din`t noticed that a Browning is include in P7. :thumbupboth:Panko’s .50 is a cool replacement for the M3A1 Half Track Browning. So I did a quick Animation test. I used a different frame setup for the gun as Helgard’s 300/30 example, to get an asynchrony in the animation. (bad English, sorry)

Mazak, that is very cool. I have a few other vehicles, like a Willy's Jeep, in production that will all have places to mount the Browning, and there is space on the Pibber to mount it as well.
Would you give me permission to upload that animation to the YouTube site: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=VanishingPointVideo
You will be credited and it will be listed as an animation test for the Browning.
We have some other guns coming soon that all feature advanced programming like this, Mr Panko has been very busy, and forcing me to invent more and more complicated methods of making gun animation a one click operation, lol.

Thankx !! All the best for your model.
My interest arises from the - wait for it - supernatural morphing dragon-jeep creature in the Japanese manga-anime series Saiyuki, created by Minekura Kazuya. This item could be a prospect for use in my fan art . It has a Ying-Yang sign on it's bonnet, BTW ; )

Infinity, could you give me a link to a picture of this dragon jeep?
Mazak, there will be enough add-ons in the jeep for you to configure any jeep you want, from a LRDG to a peace-time safari, from a Soviet medic jeep to a beech fun car.
I will try to upload that animation, but not sure how YouTube will treat the ultra wide format.
And Panko, my apologies for holidaying, I have chained myself to the drawing board now, lol.
(and I am wondering why Mazak's LRDG character is wearing a re-textured German jacket, and not a British one?)

Helgard -
the dragon-jeep reference pictures are here:
http://juniperchew.googlepages.com/hakuryujippuref
Click on the thumbnails to see full-sized reference picture.
I have done close-ups to show the Ying-Yang symbols on the jeep.
In the story by Minekura, the jeep (called Jippu in the original Japanese version) is capable of transforming into a small white-scaled, red-eyed winged dragon (named Hakuryu or White Dragon - doh). In another existence, the little dragon is also a bishie-boy humanoid King of the Western Heavenly Regions.

Infinity10 - I texture some of Helgards stuff (like the DWC Truck) sometimes so might pitch in to save Helgard some time.
Whats the base colour of the jeep you want ?
Are the Yin-Yang symbols just on the rear and the front bumper or elsewhere as well ?
Helgard and Pankos - as the LRDG slighty pre-dated the SAS a thought for you.
I wonder did the LRDG/SAS ever use a 'pinkie' version of the jeep ?
Some websites state the desert pink was used in WW2. But all the Pinkies I've ever seen are where all long wheel based landrovers. And landrovers didn't really exist until after WW2.
Helgard - don't forget to shout me if you need those closeup photos of the stretcher mounts.

As far as I know the Pink Panthers where Land Rovers, and only started being used after WWII. I have never seen a photo of a Jeep with the pink paint, although the Chevy trucks of the LRDG sometimes had the pink paint as well. But I could be totally wrong.

The Tamiya kit above is definitely not a Willy's Jeep.

My mistake. The SAS and LRDG did use Jeeps, so it would seem reasonable that they would have used the same camouflage scheme
(sketch here -> http://hegewisch.net/blindkat/lrdg/lrdgpatrol.html).

sorry for delayed reply - just lost a close relative and spending time on arrangements.
In the anime (animation version), the ying-yang sign appears on the hood (bonnet) where most hood ornaments go. The jeep is military green. In the original manga version (the graphic novel, samples provided at my link above) , the symbols are as depicted.
Oh, in case you guys want to make the matching Smith n Wesson, it's got a ying-yang symbol on the side.
