Hi everybody and happy new year to you all!
I'm looking for a church censer or rather a fantasy looking one (like the Skaven plague censer for who knows the ratmen).
Could be a weird looking ball and chain if a censer doesn't exist for Poser or in obj.
Thanks for your help!

I've never heard of a 'church censer' before. I looked it up in google images and they are "incense Burners". I'll look around and see if I can find one. Haven't seen one in Poser before but then again I haven't specifically looked for one either.
EDIT: Are they called anything else? I looked for "Censer" and "Incense" and "Burner" and haven't found anything.
Perhaps post in the Wishing Well forum, or the 3D Modelling forum for a special request.

Don't know if this will help, but in vhurvh, they are also known as 'thurifers' or thuribles... too many years spent as an altar boy... lol

CaptainJack, that looks a great deal like some of the incense burners I have at home. The ones I have were made sometime in the mid to late 1800's and made out of brass. They are quite small but somewhat heavy. I inherited them from my "granny."

I've got one or two lying around somewhere of similar shape myself. Mine, however, are "first generation" and of fairly new construction. That one I modeled from a pic I grabbed off of Google real quick.

Upon doing some further research, there is a ball-and-chain style mace at 3D Total in 3DS format that looks an awful lot like the Skaven plague censers, as best I can tell from the rather tiny images I can find of them on the 'net. You might give that a try, too.

dphoadley's example is the one I that I thought the word refers to.

The computer game "Companions of Xanth" exploited the censor/censer joke. In fact, the "censers" were aboard a ship called the "censer-ship."

If you've ever seen Greek Orthodox processions, the guys swinging the smoky spheres back and forth are using censers.

you might poke your head in the victorian furniture thread by ness over in the daz forum's Freepository and remind him about his unfinished church items. i think a censer was one of them, but i can't remember.
