Has anyone got a alienware?
I have on order a M9700.
If you have one what do you think of the machine?
I have been waiting since since 19 Dec 2006 for this computer.

No specific opinion on laptops, because I don't have any use for them, but in the desktop world Alienworld is expensive junk (imho). Do you have a good reason for buying a laptop and not a desktop? You will pay much more to get much less than a comparable desktop.

having a PC is not possible due to the location I am at.
Laptop's are the only available item due to portability.

I wouldn't call Alienware products junk, pjz99, but they are overpriced and the desktops tend to be loud, making all sorts of annoying whirring and humming noises. I must admit ignorance regarding their notebooks.
I was just looking at Falcon's newest gaming PC that boasts a list price of over $7000.00. Now that's just plain crazy. I could put together a fantastic rig for less than a quarter of that price. Must be a brand prestiege thing for snobs.
Good luck with your purchase, burchigb.

Agree with Mogwa, but I think their laptops ARE junk! My friend has a 'top-o-the-line' (read: $5000!) Alienware laptop. What a p.o.s.! It has been nothing but problems since wasting all of that money - drivers, software, firmware, and now hardware (the display keeps going away). Stay away - Danger! Danger! Will Robinson. ;)
And this is experiential - not just from someone's review. But better to get a consensus of reviews than just go for the name and prestige. Alienware is slowly becoming expensive stuff that you can get for much less without the wiz-bang design.

Understood but have you got the m9700 or used the machine for graphics generation?
