Why tobacco box? Because the camera used here was (well, "IS", I still have it) a tobacco box. Its a perfec camera. Open the box, place the film (I used paper here as the film), close the box and expose... ;-) This is almost the actual size of the image. Marboro box, a needle and a small piece of aluminum. 13 s. of exposure. Positivated by contact. Arturo ps. ...hope you dont find this too silly... ;-)

You should have seen my face the first time I did a stenopeic. This one is my face. I was totally amazed. This is when I got hooked into photography. And it still amazes me. Arturo

This is so amazing. I didn't realize you could actually take a photo using a tobacco box. Thank you for giving us so much information!!

Yeah the worlds first cameras, pin hole cameras......You got me going to do some neat stuff, only I dont have a dark room...

I dont have a dark room neither. I just use the small bathroom in the house. So I have to build the entire dark room everytime I want print an image or develop a film... ;-) Arturo

Oh boy, now you really have got to tell us how you are doing all this in your bathroom!! Curious minds want (no NEED) to know!!

This is REAL cool - I know exactly where you're all coming from - as I've said before, I need to set mine up again too - I started off in the under-stair cupboard some 20 ish years ago when I was a very young-un - enlarger on top of the freezer etc etc... boy this brings back memories!

Thats it, mjshepherd ;-) I think we all have to deal with this. And yes, with a red bulb, some black cardboards and an enlarger (I was lucky to get a really great one for very low money) on top of the wc everythings possible ;-) Thanks everybody for your great comments. Arturo

No no not silly at all. My fathers first enlarger was made from a coffee tin and a lens from a broken camera. You are rediscovering photography as it once was. To think people took great photographs with little more.
