Frustration would be one major feeling I got last night, when I opened a PZ3 file I created the night before.  I needed to change a pose a little and some lighting.  Anywho, I opened the file and Poser opened, but I got no pose window.  All of the other palettes came up fine, and Poser did have the file opened, but no pose window.  The frustration got worse when I had to click through every menu item to find the command to open the pose window, but alsa I could not find it.  I tried opening a couple other PZ3 files, and they did the same thing along with some other whacky things like no lights.  Now, the kicker her eis that I DO have a file I created about two weeks ago, that I CAN open.

I have never had this happen before in all the time I'ev been using Poser.  Currently, I use Poser 6, including the SR3 install.  After getting over being upset, I realized I had to start over, which I did.  I went so far as to uninstall Poser  and reinstall, along with recopying all 3 gigs of my content back intothe runtime.  I did try deleting the preference files as well (per E-Frontier's FAQ).  After all was restored, this time, I cautiously opened a new figure, saved the file, exited Posr, and came back in.  Everything was cool.  I went forward to add some hair, then I saved again, closed Poser, came back in, and that seemed ok.  Just to be cautious even more, I opened up Poser this morning and everything was still fine with my file.

Anyone out there have this problem with PZ3 files corrupting, which I think may have happened, but I don't know HOW it happened.  Knowing how, would help avoid having this happen again.  There's nothing more frustrating than creating a great scene, saving it and then having to go back into it, to discover everything is gone.  I'm out of ideas and troublshooting tips to find out what's up.  I don't know if it's a Poser problem or content.

For the files that gave me probs, the only thing I can think of is that I used differently is V4, with it's own maps and morphs, V4 hair and V4 clothing.  I don't customize my Poser, I don't use third party add-ons for Poser either.

Help would be appreciated in this matter.

Thanks,

Jim

I don't know what happened to your files, but I can give one piece of advice. Once you have your Poser workspace arranged to yur liking (assuming you don't just use the default arrangement), save it by clicking on a UI dot. Then, if you find your windows missing you stand a chance of resetting the workspace.
