Hi all Ok how do I ask this without sound like an idiot, I have just got Bryce I know you can import meshes from other app’s like Daz and so on but how do you pose them once you have them into Bryce I tried to do the mill dragon but all I got was it in it’s default pose and can you import from Bryce to Daz? Some help will be very much-appreciated thanks in advance

Hiya.
You pose the models in DAZ Studio. Providing you have Bryce 5.5 and up, you will find a DAZ Studio button in Bryce. Hit that, and Studio will open. Pose the dragon to your liking, and then click the Bryce Button in Studio. Now DAZ Studio will close and you're back in Bryce with the dragon posed. If you need to tweak your pose, select the dragon and click the DAZ Studio button again.
Hope this helps

You can only go from Studio Daz into Bryce,,,, All posing is done in Studio.. then you bring the figure into Bryce and add other props then render,,,,,
For example: If you made a throne in Bryce and wanted a man figure to seat on it,,, then you go into Studio, right from Bryce, get a figure dress them and pose him as best as you can sitting down (without the throne) then bring him into Bryce and sit the figure on your throne,,, see... but you can not take the throne into Studio from Bryce...

Welcome to Bryce!!
You can't "pose" in Bryce, that's where knowing some Poser or DS comes in handy.
I'll let the others cover DS. (not much practice here)

**can you import from Bryce to Daz [Studio]?
**-Yes, but this is a very particular yes...Bryce's Terrains/Lattices & Rocks can be exported out and imported into other programs.
-Generic mesh files that are previously imported into Bryce, can then be exported out as a generic 3D mesh. Also, as a different 3D format if you want.
-If you have Bryce 6.0....that version (only) will export out generic meshes made from booleaned primitives, and that can be used in other programs.
-NOTE : All of this mentioned in this post is the usual Export-Import operations. This has nothing to do with the Bryce-Studio translator.

If you only have Bryce 5 and don't have Poser or Daz Studio you can't pose it in Bryce. If you do have Poser or Daz Studio you pose the figure in those applications then export it as a .obj file then import it into Bryce.
Dann-O posted Thu, 25 January 2007 at 7:14 PM
Bryce can import OBJ files just export it as an OBJ.

Hi Aldaron I do have Daz and Bryce I know Bryce 5.5 has a Daz button and Bryce 5 has not found that out as soon as I was informed about the button and version it was in.
As for the posing and saving as obj how do you do that? Do you save it as a scene? And import or is there something I am missing as I have stated I am new at this so sorry for being an idiot
Aldaron posted Fri, 26 January 2007 at 7:31 AM
In Daz under the file menu there should be an option to export, just select .obj and name the file.
And just in case you are confused, you don't need Bryce 5.5 to use Daz. Daz studio can be used seperate, it's just that 5.5 intergrated the two programs so that it's easier to use.

**Welcome to Bryce and the Bryce forum.
@Rayraz: When I was 12 we had to kill a Mastadon so we could draw pictures on the cave walls in blood.
PS Now that you have Bryce 5 it is only 40 dollars to upgrade it to Bryce 6.0.**
