Subject: banners - we really mean it this time ;)

There was this thread started last april (:ohmy:) for you guys to post banners for the forum and gallery in. I'm going to actually get that in place, but first I'd like to give people some time to add banners, if anyone feels so inclined. Say...until next wednesday? If you want more time and you've got something in mind just ask, but it's been a looong time.

So if you want to add another banner, post it in the old banner thread: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?message_id=2654408

Then next wednesday I can either

put them all up together in a new thread and we can vote on them
OR
if you guys prefer (and I can talk a moderator into doing it) we could have a rotating banner like in the Bryce form (i.e. reload the page and get a new one each time)

ok, i like the rotating banner idea, but i still stand by my view that banners that are already the headers for people websites should not go on as a banner.

I agree with oodmb, banners should be 'new builds' for this forum.

its not that they advertise another website, but that they were used in the past to link to somebody's site, and that they are thus associated with that site.

Ok, it sounds like people like the rotating banners idea, so I'll write the javascript for that and get it to a mod after class this evening (it's really not that hard to write (I think)).

But which ones are from people's personal websites so I don't include those?

i'm pretty sure i've seen nicko15's banner elsewhere as well as JennyLynn37171, but that one i am not as sure about.

Ugh. Apparently the gifs aren't working in firefox from the backroom server anyways (:cursing:), so don't worry about JennLynn, I'm gonna have to leaver hers out one way or another.

I'm sorry this isn't up yet you guys. Since I have to ask a moderator to change the headers I wanted to change the whole header and include links to the tutorials and freestuff and just have them change it once--but we don't have free stuff yet, I think the person who was setting it up forgot (I'm sending her a reminder). So we get to wait a bit, but someday it will get up there!
