I have noticed a number of images by people, who I follow as favorites and get notification from Renderosity about their postings, have shown up as "image under review by coordinators and staff" or somesuch and others "someone seems to have removed this image".

Is this the noody thumb police in operation?

Looks that way to me. Some people have pulled their galleries, hence all the "somebody seems to have removed this image" messages.

Yes, I'm so new to this that I still squeak, but I believe that is the message when we move an image into "holding" pending the receipt of a new TOS compliant thumbnail. Once we receive a new thumbnail the image is reinstated back into the gallery with all comments and ratings as they were.

Then of course some images are actually removed permantently by either staff or the person themself.

It was stated originally in the announcement as to imply only to new image posts and not to older thumbs. So, has that policy already been changed?

Not for my gallery at least...

I uploaded an image yesterday that seems to have been moved into this holding area.

It contained nudity and the thumb was the entire image reduced to thumb size with the naughty bits covered by a red box. I was under the impression this was ok? But, I guess I was wrong...

I think it's a bit odd that I haven't gotten any notification that it has been removed, I only found out after clicking my gallery and seeing it wasn't there. I don't seem to have the option of redoing the thumb either, as I can't edit or remove the image since it's not in my gallery... scratches head

I'm a bit puzzled why a box covering the naughty bits is not ok. What's the difference between clothing and a box?

Because a "box" is equivalent to/seen as a "censor bar". And because censor bars of any sort are equated with porn, which is "unprofessional",  well ...

Yeah, I know. Clear as mud but it covers the ground. ;-)

Yeah, that was the problem anyway, I got a site mail about it just now.

And it does make sense in a way to disallow the black censor bars I suppose. I just like that the thumbnail contained the entire image, but now I'll have to make them with just a head or an arm or something as well :)
