hi guys.. i have a question... i would like to know what software can i use to create a cartoon character that looks like a person.... example.. i would like to make a cartoon guy that looks like me... is there anything u can do.. maybe use a picture of the person and the character gets the facial characteristic of the person.... ?????? thanks

If you want a cartoon done of yourself then you to install poser you will need   two photos one front of face and one side of the face showing your eye, ears and  chin! and use the face room! use a digtal camera if you have one, cos the other camera's are rubbish

This is tricky, because you probably don't just want to make a Poser figure that looks like someone, you want to make a cartoon figure, which usually involves artistic exaggeration of the original person's features.

Here's an article on using GIMP (the open-source Photoshop) to make caricatures based on photos. Scroll to the bottom and you'll see some good examples of how an actual figure is distorted to make it look cartoony.

To my knowledge, there is no software that can do this automatically yet. It involves a certain amount of artistic ability that is difficult to automate. You might try googling "caricature software" and seeing what you get.

You could also try a photoshop plug-in called "sketch designer" it will make drawings out of photographs and images.  Might be worth a shot.  I forget where to get it, but its free.  You can check the photoshop forum, I know there's a list on there that has it.

here is a cartoon render you dont need any other software i did this in poser this took me about 5 mins to do the only problem  is i rendered it with the outline on!

this is the face the only problem when i render in the toon is the noise is not right this is the same photo of the first one i posted the face

this is without the outline on the body! all these were done without any other software and all done in poser 7.

Not sure what you version of a cartoon is but I think that he is wanting a 'toon' version of the character like this:

Where as yoru is a real looking representation.

raymir, can't you do a cartoon exaggeration from within Poser, i.e. once you have saved your look-alike, then start exaggerating certain facial features from within the Poser Face Room.

it takes some time to build a person as a cartoon and then you have to render it that takes forever i like the poser 4 render cos it does not take long to render!
