I thought I would get some "audience" participation with my blurstraction series. Here is one I took...feel free to play around with it and do whatever you like with it. In a week I'll pick one of your versions to be part of the Blurstraction series. I'll give you full credit as a collaborator with this image. I hope I get some takers. :)

If you don't want to do that and blurry images are not your cup of tea, here is another photo to play with. Or you can combine it with the above image - whatever you like! Combined images won't be eligible to be part of the blurstraction series though unless you can find some amazing way to approach it I have not yet thought of. ;'P

It is very cool Tim, but this is a DITI, not a Simon. Meaning -- you take the photo(s) provided and edit them, and post your results (up to 2). This isn't a thread for new photos. ...but leave that one, it is pretty neat! :)

Oops well now I know:) OK how about this then. I combined both images. This should fit better! Hope you enjoy.

Yep, it does. Going for the snowy, rainbow effect. :) Nice postwork.

Well I had a play with your top image.  I'm not sure if this was what you wanted.

A version which retains all of your original features, but adds a different atmosphere to the image... (added some subtle radial and zoom blurs on three different areas of the image, and differentiated the effects... very subtle, I know) ;o))

or a differnet flower.

I combined with a shot I had of a gas torch(mirrored) and the mirage in the air the heat created. Together it made a spooky-like figure...with your blurstraction combined.

TomDart posted Mon, 29 January 2007 at 7:14 PM

heere is a feeble attempt on the second image...you get the idea but I am no good at this sort of suff...the idea is ok but the execution...ugh!

neirbomit posted Mon, 29 January 2007 at 7:20 PM

lol cool!

TomDart posted Mon, 29 January 2007 at 7:43 PM

One more, using both images...this gives me a chance to try digital graphic stuff at which I am not very experienced....bear with me on this stuff.  I am having fun!       Tom.

PS...lots of crazy looking snake-things in Florida! Watch out for the red touching the yellow!

TomDart posted Mon, 29 January 2007 at 8:18 PM

neirbomit, yours are pretty cool, too!  This ditti stuff is fun. Fred, you took the mimimalist way and it works for me!     Go for it folks!         TomDart.

PS> neirbomit, that is one neat avatar. I don't know if you have just been slimed or are getting out of a pool.  Is there a larger version of this?   Nevermind if there is not.

Wow, what a response! Thanks to you all for your manipulations of my original images. I won't comment on each and every one, but I appreciate the creativity that went into them all. I'd love to see more!

Ok, too too much fun...one last try...forgive for this burst of stuff..too much time on my hands perhaps. Should be washing the dishes instead.

TwoPynts posted Thu, 01 February 2007 at 10:22 AM

Glad you are still having fun Tom. Where is the pertrified wood?!? ;'P

TomDart posted Thu, 01 February 2007 at 5:36 PM

Most of the wood has landed, in Arizona of course.  I imagine a lot is still out there, waiting.

Had a bit of a play and went for the cliché negative space thingey... hope you like it ;)

edit: it was on my mind (the whole negative space thing) - check my upload tomorrow (and curve it for a laugh) to see why :)

well i dont think many people go around adjusting curves on images they see, so that might answer why you were the only one to see it 😉

Lots of great DITI's everyone. I've made my choice for the Blurstraction and will post it in my gallery this Friday. Tim, it is your turn for the next DITI! :)

I look forwards to the "great event" on Friday.  The idea of using blur is a good one...something most phtogs avoid totally...thinking out of the box it is.  This is fun.  Still is fun.
