Which he had in his gallery since January 14 (see link). IMVHO entry #23686 should be the winner. Play by the rules (and read them), vote fairly and don't cheat. The entries are all very memorable. Great work everyone.Question the question. Answer the question. Question the
answer...

Nothing like a scandal to spice up the proceedings.
While I quite like the shot, as it doesn't conform to the clearly stipulated rules, it should be disqualified.
And with 64 views, that's 64 votes potentially tainted.
That's just my opinion though.
If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards...checkmate!

CONGRATS Matt !!!
bclaytonphoto posted Thu, 01 February 2007 at 7:13 AM
Ok..that changes things...
I'll have to figure out a solution
64 votes....you gotta be kidding..that image got FOUR VOTES
That's it...The second place images got three..Every month three or four pages of entries..and very few votes..This month was my fault..
I'm off to work, so this will have to wait until later..
ToBeNamedLater posted Thu, 01 February 2007 at 8:01 AM
Oh man. You never should have told me that the winner got 4 votes. I was sure there were thousands of votes and my poor like picture was barely edged out of the top ten, but now I have to come to terms with the realization that it got 0 votes. My fantasy world is crashing down around me. I didn't have to be good - I just wanted to think I was good.
(I didn't get enough sleep last night)
Congratulations Matt and everyone else.
David.

Getting people to vote is a constant problem David. Don't take it personally. Congrats to the winners, though it is a shame Matt's has to be disqualified. Valouchufy and evinrude, you two need to agree on a theme for February's Challenge. If you can't come up with something quickly, we'll have to pick the theme for this month. Post your final choice here please, thanks.

It's pretty sad that folks don't vote....esp those that entered.
I voted....I've never entered....
@TBNL.....man, you were soooooo close! LOL!
In youth, we learn....with age, we understand.

 I'm with you TBNL!!!!
I knew I wouldn't get anywhere near the top four winners that get named - there were some fantastic pictures, but I can't believe that with all the members RR has that so few people vote!!
At least I can add my entries to my gallery now (I can, can't I??)
But I entered, I voted and will continue to do so each and every month that this contest appears!!
How can you (we) tell how many votes / views a picture has had?? A few of you have quoted figures (TBNL - 0 votes for example ..... how did you know that???)
I suppose if we're sticking to the rules ....... I made a mistake on my second entry as I'd added my logo to the bottom of the image!! It was only after I'd submitted it that I realised what I'd done and could have been disqualified as it wasn't classed as "anonymous" however..... and I'm assuming this is why the moderators allowed it...... I'm fairly new around here and only have five images in my gallery but only the latest image has that logo on it (which I uploaded after the contest had closed) so I suppose it was still anonymous as my logo doesn't state BibbyBear on it at all!
My apologies for this breach and I assure you good people that I won't do that again!
Well done to all the winners...... now hurry up and give us this month's genre
Only joking, just want to go out there and get snapping!!
Keep smiling guys - it's only a bit of fun and good practice for us newbies.

Perhaps, it would be good of seeing a mini tutorial for each : for the challenge of the month, challenge genre and what is the LWIG..
bclaytonphoto posted Thu, 01 February 2007 at 7:34 PM
Good idea Val...Remind me next week...I won't have any extra free time to work on that till Tues or Wends..
Valerie-Ducom posted Thu, 01 February 2007 at 11:57 PM
Bruce, you aren't alone, you have Dan, Kort and Ilona...I'm sure they can make taht too If I can say other idea, it's to make that too in spanish, french and perhaps in german too. Don't forget, all the people don't speak english.
Valerie-Ducom posted Fri, 02 February 2007 at 12:02 AM
Evinrude & me have decided for the theme **"****Transportation"
**
BibbyBear posted Fri, 02 February 2007 at 2:11 AM
OK, I speak English (unless I've had a few to drink!!) but I don't speak forum or photography talk yet!!!
What does "LWIG" mean??
I'm sure if that's something you will be incorporating into the challenge, then it will be explained, but I'm just being curious!!

Well, The LWIG is "Last week in the gallery", but I cannot explain you the rules, because is so distinct at the LWIG i know before... It's for that, I say it's so good if there is a mini tutorial for all, where the user can participat, like Challenge genre, challenge of month, simon says, DITI, LWIG...
bclaytonphoto posted Fri, 02 February 2007 at 6:48 AM
LWITG
last week in the gallery
DITI
do it to it
Val..The team will figure something out about making some tutorials
TwoPynts posted Fri, 02 February 2007 at 8:05 AM
Yes, Valou, thanks for your input. It is a good idea. So, Val and Evinrude have chosen TRANSPORTATION as the theme for Febuary's Genre Challenge. We'll get that up as soon as we can, things are a bit behind schedule right now, sorry everyone.

Thank you all for the explanations - much clearer now!!
We forgive you TwoPynts - we all have lives outside of RR and understand that as much as we may love to spend every waking minute either here or behind the lens, unfortunately, that does not pay the bills so yes, jobs and home do have to come into the picture too!!
At least we know what the genre is so there's nothing stopping us all getting our cameras out this weekend and shooting some "transportation" shots!!
Thanks again.

Yikes...I have even tried to get folks to vote..seems less than entries perhaps. That is sad. This particular challenge had many fine photos in entry. Votes should have rolled in and with the "next page" means of viewing all...it is not difficult.
I voted for the winner and did not know it was a gallery image. With 4 votes...it is still a fine choice. Still, rules are rules. Tom.
