I have the Veepster and I want to add mirrors to the side and rear view mirrors. Is there a way to do it in the mat room? I've searched the forum but couldn't find anything.
Thanks for the help,
Nolos

There is.
Easiest way is to download one of the mirrors from freestuff - they have shaders that will do the reflection for you. Just make sure it's a mirror for Poser 5 or higher - Poser 4/Pro Pack/Artist won't do, and freebies made for those versions will not have a mirror reflection shader.

First, make sure you're using Poser 5 or above: P4 and Pro Pack don't support ray-traced reflections.
Next, go to the Material Room and select the "mirror" material on the Veepster.
Next, apply a reflection node. Here's a tutorial on my website: How to Make Reflections in Poser 5 (and above).
After that, check your Render Options: make sure you use the Firefly Renderer (the P4 Renderer doesn't support ray-traced reflections). Also make sure you use at least 3 or 4 ray-trace "bounces": more is better, but the more bounces, the longer the scene will take to render.

Also...the current issue of 3rd Dimension Graphics also covers making a mirror :)

Thanks for the information. I tried some of the suggestions and you're right, it increases render time alot. I may have to see if I can blue screen instead.
The magazine is cool. I will definitely add it to my must read list.
Thanks again,
Nolos
