Ok - first, here's the texture to make your .mat file with. I'm not an anal retentive person - so this one's open for the grab, public domain, no strings attatched - change it and sell it in a texture compilation if you want to - use it for your work, I don't give a flyin froo ha ha - because it was just a first time learning experience. I made it using just MS paint in ME and The Gimp - so it's no biggy...

Now here's how it looks in BRYCE 5.0 - I need some critqueing here people. I am trying to make my own textures because I am tired of the copyright worries - PERIOD!

So - what did I do right, what did I do wrong, how would YOU improve it?

It looks cool, Mugsey. I can't wait to use it!

Thanks Deathy - but don't you think it looks kinda "cartoony"?
I hate cartoony - I'm trying to get away from it, lol...

I'm gonna start making textures for myself and everybody else for free - because I am FREAKING TIRED of NOT being able to find halfway decent public domain textures (not "for non-commercial only" textures - or "Don't do this and do do that" textures - but honest to Golly free as a bird no strings, catch 22s, or legalistic clauses attatched.

I just need to find a way to get the files hosted for free, lol.

Bundle them up in a zip and send 'em over. I'll host them on my downloads page......if you want....bryster3d@aol.com

I have a crap load of non-skyscraper stuff that I haven't converted to .mat files yet Bryster - I'll do that ...

Cartoony... well, probably depends how it gets used. I have one building that I think it would look good with. There's an inside part of a building that needs something like this mat. There's an outside mat I'm already using... so hopefully any cartoonish looks will be hidden behind other textures ;-)

There is nothing wrong with the texture....  you need to add an extra box at the bottom and make doors and first floor stuff textures...

First floor stuff is definitely on the agenda. I have a lot of creative ideas to try out on these.

I'd put the doors on the ground floor if i were you........................

Nice texture.  I would make the windows all black.  Then you can use the transparency channel to make them so.  At least I think that's how it works.  Been a spell for me.

Why do the last two windows on the bottom two rows have two dots in them?  It looks like you didn't quite finish with those two windows... or is it meant to be like that?

Otherwise I think it looks pretty darned good!
