When i start up my poser 6 I get a windows can't find disk message I can either cancel, try again or continue it usually takes 2 times of pushing continue to by pass it. But when i try to load certain saved poser files I get the message again and it does not go away the second time. Seems to pop up when i scroll through my library too. I have put my disk into the drive and I still get the error message, It usually tells you what drive the disk should go in but it does not even list my drives when the error comes up either. Any idea what is going on?

i think i remember something like this happening to me, and i think i got around it by either sticking me content cd in the drive or changing my preferences to start up at "preferred state" so if you clear that message by putting your poser cd in the drive, then change your settings to start at preffered state ( you can change that back to default " factory state" next time you open poser) it shouldn't happen again.

Thats not it I have 2 cds I got with poser 6 the red disk which has the program on it and a white disk that has winter queen on it. I tried to set it to preferred state, hell even back to factory and still get the error message

You may have had an incomplete install. My suggestion would be to uninstal poser, and reinstall it. I've had this happen when for some oddball reason some key operating file didn't transfer from the disk over correctly.

Just a long shot...
Do you by any chance have any libraries on a removable drive?
When you exit Poser it saves the library path in "runtimeprefsLibraryPrefs.xml".
On next start-up, it looks for that library.
Just FYI, you can delete LibraryPrefs.xml. and Poser should start up OK using the default (Poser 6) library. LibraryPrefs will be recreated on exit..
Cheers,
Diolma

I do have libraries on my external and on my hard drive i'll see if that will work.
Nope deleted those in the pref folder, did that tutorial already on curious labs site
