I've been using Vue for over a year now with pretty good success. This is the first time I've had this problem and I'm not sure what could have caused it. This image was rendered on the Ultra setting. I also rendered it again with better anti-aliasing to see if that would help, but no luck. The noise shows up no matter what part of the scene or render setting I use. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have any solutions?
weird render

Through process of elimination, I was able to figure out what part of the scene was causing the noise. Apparently Vue didn't like the material I had on the boolean tube that constitutes the walls of the room. The material was a two-level mixed material that used glass on the second level. I changed the material to a simple mix of metal and glass, and the noise went away. I also tried different materials which also used glass on a second level of materials and they caused the noise too. I've used these materials on other objects with no ill effects, apparently Vue just has problems putting them on a boolean tube.

So...I figured out what caused the problem, just not why. I've found made a material that works all right, but is not as good as what I had before. If anyone knows a workaround for this I would still be grateful.

"Purple Noise"? ... sounds (looks?) like a form of synaesthesia - or possibly induced by a hallucinogenic drug:-))

Glad you got it sorted.
