How do ya get DAZ Studio meshes inside Poser with out losing anything ?

I just got DAZ Studio it done a search and found all the Poser files and all the Poser files work in DAZ Studio.

Just like thay work in Poser.

I am trying to get the low polycount 24406 V3 RR LE that comes with DAZ Studio in side Poser.

I know I could import it as a .obj but it would lose everything.

Anyway to get DAZ Studio meshes to work in Poser like Poser meshes work in DAZ Studio ?

Thanks

The only way to get that to work would be to add Studio Runtime to Poser as an external Runtime so you won't lose any of the textures or files as long as they are Poser file extensions and not Daz's it will work in Poser.

Manuel does not tell me how to make a external Runtime that I know of.

So how do we make a external Runtime ?

Thanks

RorrKonn, the V3RR that is part of the special free D|S Content is in Studio native format.
You cannot use it in Poser as Poser cannot read .daz, .ds, .dsb, or data files.

Your only other option would to be to buy the V3RR with the necessary .cr2 to work in Poser:

Let's see....nope don't see one, they have Reduced Res for V2, V3, M2, M3, & Stephanie.
I typed in "Reduced Resolution" in the search bar.

Did a quickie look-through in the Aiko/Hiro section, didn't find one.

If DAZ|Studio can export to .OBJ files, you can try the following:

  • load V3 RR LE in DAZ|Studio

  • make sure she is in absolute zero pose (all rotations and translations set to zero, all scales at 100%, all inverse kinematics off)

  • export her as Wavefront .OBJ file

  • import the Wavefront .OBJ file in Poser

  • switch to the Setup room

  • apply the V3 figure from the Figures library

  • switch back to the Pose room

  • save the figure to your Figures library.

Now you'll have a V3 LE figure, but without any morphs. If you want those morphs too:

  • in DAZ|Studio, apply the morph you want to have, e.g. Open Mouth
  • export all body parts that are affected by the morph, one by one, as Wavefront .OBJ (head and neck in this case)
  • load the V3 LE figure in Poser
  • select the head
  • choose Object ->Load Morph Target and select the exported head .OBJ file
  • select the neck
  • choose Object ->Load Morph Target and select the exported neck .OBJ file
  • set both morph target values  to 1 in Poser
  • choose Figure -> Create Full Body Morph, name it Open Mouth
  • set both morph target values back to zero
  • and save your figure back to the figure library.

Again, this will ONLY work if DAZ|Studio can export to .OBJ format. I wouldn't be surprised if that's not possible. DAZ will want you to buy the V3 RR figure for Poser and may have taken steps to prevent the user from getting V3 RR into Poser this way.

Keep it on the low down, Don't give DAZ any idea's ;)

10 minutes after downloading DAZ Studio I had V3 RR LE in C4D.

DAZ Studio Exports .obj .bvh. Imports Poser stuff.

Killer directions, Very helpful.

Thanks
