The Group "Swidgets" is selected, but why by Grey Color; usually I can just click a Grey Group/Layer, to turn it Blue(thus Activate,) but not with this one particularly saved .PSD file?

With a Grey Selection I ca'nt make changes to a Group/layer, because it is as of yet has not been "Activated"(I think?)

Can anyone explain the difference in Selection; between these two States of the Layers Palette?

Oddly, I've never used groups - sorry I can't help right now (going to look it up, though) but I'm just bookmarking this for when someone replies with a solution.

Some of my docs go easily above 30 layers so it might be wise to start using Groups for organization, huh?

Groups' Selection works the same as Layers'; expept  that you're obviously altering several Layers at once, when a Group is what's selected.

Groups were a great addition, you can toggle them on, and the set will show.

Is something within the group locked?

Thanks for the try, but nope; that document had some other Layers and Groups that were/are doing the same thing.

Are any layers "linked" to others?
(My first thought would have been a locked layer also...maybe a "hidden"layer in there perhaps)

the deference is one is a layer set and one isn't. layer sets, are basicly a folder of layers, the grey is unselected, the blue is selected. the arrow > can go down to revel how ever many layers are in the set... if you can't click on them to select / activate the layer set - then something very whack is going on... even if they are locked u can normally select them and unlock them, change the blending mode and do all sorts of cool things WITHOUT merging the contents of the layer set... if thse layer sets are made by you there might be a very simple a solution...not sure what is is atm
