More of an After Effects problem. But I didn't see a forum for After Effects, so I figured I'd go with the adobe forum. So here's my problem. This should be really easy (and I'm sure it is), but I just got After Effects, and I want to make a still image(png) fade in, and stay there. Like I said, I'm sure it's really easy, but I can't seem to find out how to get that nice fade in effect. Any help would be VERY appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there, it is indeed rather easy. Import the .png. Make a new comp. Drag it in the comp. Click the triangle in front of the layer in the comp. Click the triangle in front of 'Transform'. Go to the point in the timeline where you want the image to be 100% Go back to the start, click the tickbox in front of 'Opacity' or click drag on the 100% value an drag it to the left. I you want a bit more non linear fade (time-wise) you can click the triangle in front of 'Opacity' and mess with the curve. But then it goes from 'easy' to possibly 'completely messed up'. Hope this helps! Good luck!
