You no the blue line in wire frame and when ya render it divides the sky.
I want to make it lower so it always sets at the bottom of the screen no matter where the camera is looking but I can't find the direction on how because I do not know what Bryce calls it.
I am new to Bryce and I am reading the manual and learning Bryce
I know eventually I would get to it but that line drives me nuts being where it sets.

The blue line on the horizon is called the horizon... If you want to get rid of this line and the planar plane surface to just have nothing... except your model...
here is what you do:
go to "sky & fog" selection...click it.. (you know on top of the screen...) you'll see seven little Icon with sky pic in them...
go to the icon right next to the mini viewer and click on that little black triangle..
Check " atmosphere off" That little icon has also a color stripe on the bottom.. If you click it you'll be able to put a color in the whole universe background...
click the planar base (floor) and delete it....
Now you are alone in this universe...;)
If you want a floor put a 2d surface, make it horizontal and as large as you want....
I hope this helped..

Very helpful info.
And thanks alot for trying to help.
At this point I do not have the vocabulary to asks questions correctly.
but I am getting there.
Want atmosphere on.
All I want is a sky, just sky, no mater where I look.
I do not want the scene divide in to a atop and bottom.
I want that blue dividing line to go away never come back.
How do I get all sky or atmosphere no matter where I look.
I do not want Bryce to make me a horizon anywhere.
Even when I delete the ground I still have a infinite ground that is a solid color that goes to the dang blue line.
I am really starting to hate that blue line.
Do not want any kind of ground.
Poser does not have a blue line.
I have never seen another app that had this blue line.
So how do we do this ?

Tilt your camera up about 45degrees - or even 90 degrees. You get nothing but sky. It's a pian to model like this but
1, you can model your scene
2, select all
3, rotate up to 90degrees (include the camera)
I suggest you make a simple box prim and try it with that first.
or (if you don't know what I'm talking about)......
start Bryce
click and hold the big ball to the left of the work area
drag it upwards
render...........

That sounds like what would be called a work around
Ya I know what your saying and ya right it would be a pain.
Can we rote the blue line down 45,90 degrees ?

The sky and the horizon are infinate. They cannot themselves be independantly moved. What I have suggested is not so much a 'work-around', more of a 'the only way to do it' .
Try this:
Load up a new page in Bryce
Select DIRECTORS VIEW
Drop the groundplane to y = -500 (y equals minus 500)
Rotate the main trackball by pushing it up
The Horizon line should drop to the bottom of the screen.
Repeat this until the horizon vanishes entirely.
You should be left with just the sky.

I remember my hate for the Blue Line! You cannot make it go away if you have any kind of Earth atmosphere. Only space scenes or solid colors will not have a line.
One thing to keep in mind about Bryce and Poser. Bryce is primarily a landscape program. Every landscape in the world has a horizon. If you look at any other landscape program they will have some kind of horizon.
Poser is primarily a figure modelling program. It does not need a horizon. Poser can be used to make full scenes with horizons but that is not it's focus.
There is an easy way to avoid the line and other problems related to pointing the camera at the sky.
Make or find a high resolution picture of a sky you want as a background.
Delete the ground plane.
Create a 2d Face.
Go to the texture editor by clicking 'M' next to the 2d Face.
Change the amdient to 0.
Click the first empty circle next to 'diffuse'.
A texture will come up. Click the 'P'. Then the very light pink dot at the top left.
You should see 3 big boxes at the top of the screen. Click 'Load' on the 3rd one.
Put the sky picture on it. Then click the check mark.
Click on the small grey triangle to the left of the texture boxes. It is not in a circle. It says 'Material Options'. Turn off the 3 shadow settings by clicking them.
Click the check mark.
Turn the camera to look straight at the 2d Face.
Increase the size of the 2d Face and move it away from the camera.
Move the sun to be behind the camera or add some lights to make the picture brighter.
this is an easy way to make backgrounds for scenes. There are some limitations.
All actions must be in front of the 2d Face. The original size of the sky picture is important. Bigger is better. At leat 512x512. 1024x1024 is best. You can find sky pictures here in R'osity
Free stuff, Google Images, and many other places.
Sorry for the long description. Hope it helps. Let me know if it works for you. Try not to get too frustrated.

I've tried something like that to get Mojoworld pics into my Bryce scenes (backslidin'..;), but lighting it has always been a pain. Will have to try this.

Thanks for all the info, and idea's.
So any and all "Landscape Apps" Bryce,Vue etc etc our built on a single point "dot in the center of the drawing paper that all ruler lines go to" perspective more or less ?
I have never messed with landscape apps much
Did not know how thay worked.
Poser you can make the sky a sphere mesh.
You our in side of a sphere.with a sky shadier on it.
No horizon, the sky is 360 degrees around you.
top, bottom left and right.
If you put a mesh in the scene like a citadel your horizon would be at the end of the citadel.
If the space scene does not have a horizon.
Can you make a space scene look like a blue sky with clouds ?

Oh, and if you want to get rid of the horizon completely, even in your render, use the Pan tool to move the horizon down below your viewing area like airflamesred posted above.
