The USA currency is less colorful than in many countries. Largers bills are more colorful now than several years ago.  This is an odd duck, the $2 bill.   This is more curiosity than in common use.

Some businesses in the USA keep their first earned dollar stuck on the wall behind the cash register. Well, I keep this baby taped to my office wall. It is even less in circulation than Tom's $2 bill. :b_rolleyes: :b_funny: :b_tonguewink: Super Simon! :']

if only i was at home in down south, i could have shown you all a 200 ruble note from pre-revolution (1918) russia i have in my drawer.  I'm sure most have seen british money here, so i wont bore you, i havent even got the "rare" £1 note to share...

Btw - what happened to the WOE? ;P

OK - I don't have any decent macro lenses so this isn't a very good close-up and I had to hold it in my fingers as I couldn't even get this close with it flat on my white studio set up - it just wouldn't focus on it at all!! Sorry, not up to your high standards but at least it's an old British sixpence and of the greatest year ever (for football at least LOL!) I have got a 1967 one somewhere (which would have been the greatest year ever....... I was born!!) but I don't know where it is! Rich: I've got several old coins and also an old one pound note too, but the collection is up in the attic somewhere - but this thread doesn't really warrant me sending the old man up there on a "treasure" hunt just yet!!

interesting to see! as I enjoy collecting old coins   ;)

image from one of my father's collector books of Liberty Walking Halves

"...first issued in 1916.  The design shows Liberty progressing in full stride toward the dawn of a new day, carrying branches of laurel and oak, symbolical of civil and military glory.  The hand is outstretched in bestowal of the spirit of liberty."

the letters are mint marks, S for San Francisco, D for Denver, none for Philadelphia

This is a good opportunity to show off our King, Albert II. Wish I had some more 'liquids' to show though
