First up is Big Ron, a battered and bruised texture set, for the MechMaster Tomahawk mech. The model itself is also available as a free download from Vanishing Point.
This set of maps took over 100 hours to create, using PSP 4 and a variety of techniques (without layers!) to obtain a realistic grunged look.
The maps are medium-high resolution typically 2048x2048, which allows some really cool closeup shots.
Still on the mech theres also one of my Super-Seam_Guides for the Tomahawk mech. A posh name for some coloured templates to help you make some extra freebies for this seriously cool metal buddy.

Next up is "Space Marines" Born To Kill - a texture set for Oscillator's freebie: "G2PA - Personal science fiction armor for the G2 males"The original suit can be obtained from the link above:

These where left over from a commerical project and I figured someone may find a use for them. They are not perfect and you may need tweak some bits, but hey it's free!
**All of these freebies will be appearing at Vanishing Point in the next few days. Unfortunately can't say when as I've only uploaded tonight. They need testing first. **

i love to see how you do your textures on the tomahawk.great job!
mrsparky posted Mon, 05 March 2007 at 9:38 PM
Thanks Scot.
There'll be a slight delay in releasing the mech one - I was a little over ambitious here :)
Because of the file size - it's nealy 8mb I need a new home for it.
Does anyone know of a good free file hosting service with no popups or drive by nastys ?
As an aside - One trick is to use the Alien Skin Edge filter on a filled selection, copy that and fill the 'edge' with a metal texture. Paste it back over the original map and use an undo brush on he areas which wouldn't recieve any 'damage'.
Very time consuming on a large model but very effectiive.
If theres enough interest I'll write up a tutorial.
