Hello,
does anyone know if there are any tutorials out there that use psp instead of coral paint 
I don't have that  program. I only use paint shop pro,  are they similar enough to each other
to use either one?
Does anyone use both that can tell me?

There are plenty of PSP Tutorials out there.  Just do a Google search, you will find tons.

I doubt that Corel Paint is the same as PSP.  I'm actually not certain what program you are referring to, since I've heard of Corel Draw, but not Corel Paint.

Corel Draw is a vector based drawing program that has some similarity to PSP's vector drawing tools.

However, if you are looking for tutorials, there will probably be some attached to the PSP forum and there are many more out on the web.

Sorry for not making it clear. I see lot's of tutorials for Bryce that tell you to use a paint program for greyscale,  alpha channels,  ETC  I just wondered if there are tutorials for bryce out there that use PSP instead of Draw. Sorry about the error in the name.

As far as using a 2D program for creating greyscale and alpha channels, they are all pretty much the same when it comes to dealing with Bryce.

Bryce is not going to see a jpg, png, or bmp created in PSP any differently than one created in Photoshop or Corel Draw ... or anything else.

I remember being simarily dismayed at the tuts that always used Photo shop in them when all I had was paintshop pro, but the best thing is if you get stuck on how to do a particular task in psp you can go to their forum and say "I saw this explained in corel or ps, how can I do this in psp" and you'll get lots of help. They really know their stuff.

O.K.,  so I 'm a dweeb. I did not think to go to psp to see if someone could explain some of the 
things they tell you to do in Draw or Photo shop (that's a duhhhh on me)only because I like learning on my own, most of the time,  although there are times when I need an assist.

I use Corel Photopaint more than I do PSP. Most of my postworks is in Photopaint. They are very close in features.

There is a corel paint application as well as draw, at one time it gave photoshop a good run for it's money, but photoshop became the dominant app out of the two. To be honest most tuts can be translated from app to app once you've delved a little bit into what the applications call different things....

Yup..I actually took a class in Corel Draw (taught in Corel 4, while I got the Student Discount Corel Draw 8...long time ago, but I still use it). Conversely, someone at work threw out the original Paintshop pro (ie, version 1), but haven't bothered to load it yet.

Corel Draw's been upgraded numerous times since then (actually, it's called something else now, but I don't remember what..;) Photopaint was a sort of Photoshop competitor. I've used it rarely (mainly use the Gimp..;)

I do believe there's a Paintshop Pro forum here, you could ask them...

Whatever 2D program you feel most comfortable with is tha one to use.  They can all perform the same basic functions.  I use an older version of PSP for everything because it's easy to use and has advanced features as well, and it was affordable.
