Does anybody know how to remove unwanted / unsightly parts of a photograph when they are directly in front of the main object of the photograph?
I have tried cloning over them but without any success.
I thought it would be quite simple as they are just simple straight vertical lines (sounds awful, but they were definitely unavoidable!!)
Any suggestions welcomed.
Thanks
Chrissy xx

Post the image here and I'll DITI it. A picture is worth 1000 words.
Question the question. Answer the question. Question the
answer...
I wish I knew what I was gonna say :oP

cloning/healing are the best weapon in your arsenal of getting rid of things in pictures, that and a little patience and attention to detail... You can do amazing things when it comes to cloning/healing, getting rid of people for instance :)

Attached Link: Eagle Owl
OK.... Does that mean you are trying to "get rid" of me Rich???? :sad:I've uploaded the full size picture to my website and provided the link above.
I took 260 shots on Sunday (this was one of them) and unfortunately, many were of animals / birds in cages. I've done my best with many of them (my 3 chicks upload for instance) to either crop out the bars or when I shot them, I managed to get the lens so close to the bars that you couldn't see them in the shot.
This shot of the eagle owl unfortunately was not one of them!!
I like the shot of the owl though, even at full zoom in, it still appears quite well in focus (which is good for me!!)
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

I tried cloning - very unsuccesssfully!
The trouble is, if I get you guys to do it for me, then I won't be able to post it to my gallery!!!!
Sigh!
Thanks anyway - feel free to play with it if you want to though - I can't post it as it is and I can't post it if you guys sort it out for me, but at least I can save it to my own gallery with credits I suppose?!!
Thanks.

That is a very good photo, It would take a very long time to take the bars out but it can be done.

You guys are great!!
It really looks so much better without the bars.
I'm about to get thrown off the computer now (sob!) hubby needs to get on and do some work for a bit, but I'll try and get back on before bedtime if I can - if not, I'll be back on tomorrow night by which time, I may have had a go at another attempt at this owl - you've have proved to me that it can be done - and as the only saying goes.................. "If at first you don't succeed..........."
