Hi there - I am finding Poser7 keeps shutting down when I am half way or nearly finished building a scene that has a lot of hair or multipul cothing textures etc. Many of my files are in another Runtime folder on another drive.(can that make a diff.)
Uninstalled Poser7 and reinstalled, defragmented but still have shutdowns.
Running Windows XP, Pentium4 2.8, 2gig Ram.
Has anyone else had problem with Poser7 or is there something I can check up on.
Thanx/Ralph

Sadly Poser7 is unstable... and SR1 doesn't fix the bug
Waiting for a SR2...

You know, I'm sick of this shit really, we've got a Poser 7 that sucks, a Vue6Inf that sucks, anyone else want to add anything to the list, seems like these programmes are getting worse with each new release rather than better!
I'm close to saying F*** it and taking up knitting instead, much more relaxing!!!
Injustice will be avenged.

Attached Link: Poser7 Render Errors
I had a similar thought today as well. I thought I had a well oiled assembly line for staging and posting scenes and while Poser 7 comes with some long awaited improvements it has really slowed my throughput to a stand still. I spend a lot of time trying to figure out why simple things aren't working. Attached is my earlier thread about simply rendering out has become difficult. I've had to give up and go back to Poser 6 just to get things finished. Which is rough 'cause I hate giving up the multiple undo's. And "Duplicate", I love duplicate! And then I'm not so happy about giving up the attached alpha channel in a render but that can be dealt with. Maybe I could go into Real Estate in my second life.SAMS3D posted Wed, 14 March 2007 at 3:28 PM
I feel terrible, my Poser 7 SR1 is working great. Sharen

I have to agree with SAMS3D, my P7 SR1 is working just fine for me also. Sorry alot of others are having so many problems.
i7 6800 (6 core/12 thread), 24 GB RAM, 1 gtx 1080 ti (8GB Vram) + 1 Titan X (12GB Vram), PP11, Octane/Poser plugin, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Oh, and a wiener dog!

I also give up and go back to Poser 6.
Poser 7 is horror - too many bugs. SR1 modify the old bugs and bring many new bugs.

I seem to remember that there were problems with SR1 depending on where you were in the world (was a language thing I think)
not that it's any consolation mind you but mine works great. I can render some horribly compicated stuff without any problems at all :$
HeRe posted Wed, 14 March 2007 at 5:30 PM
There is Poser 7 at the moment only into English - a language problem is not absolutely, but possibly a problem what one puts to the program for claims.
bopperthijs posted Wed, 14 March 2007 at 5:38 PM
There was a problem with the object-import caused by regional settings, but E-F has fixed that, it had nothing to do with language but with decimal delimiter settings. Although I'm also having problems with rendering, I won't go back to Poser6. Poser 7 is much faster and is capable of rendering bigger scenes.

Bopperthijs

Poser 6 also ran only with SR3 without problems.
All problems are also possibly removed with Poser 7 with SR3.

For what its worth, I appreciate hearing the full spectrum of reviews. If SR1 is working for you then there is the possibility that points me toward looking into my own directory for something that might have gotten erases or corrupted. E Frontier Tech Support has replied that my "blue channel corruption" problem was part of a problem they thought they had solved with SR1. Well... Bopperthijs: Regional settings, you say? Interesting. As I am in Australia. I'm not totally clear how that makes a difference but if it is causing my problems can it be fixed. E-F currently is only suggesting work-arounds that I already explained I was using. I would rather not work-around but have it work. Writing to a psd shouldn't be so difficult in the 21st Century. IMO

I'm spanish. Regional settings are corrupting my Poser7? Our week starts in monday, not sunday... THIS is a crash setting? Meters? Kilograms? Euros?
JUST AMAZED

I don't know if in Spain it's the same but in Holland, and AFAIK also in Germany and Danmark and I think in more europian countries they use a comma to seperate the fractionpart of the whole part in a real number and a point for every three digits : 1.000.000,01. In the anglo-saxion countries and what I've heard also in Japan it's the other way around like 1,000,000.01 These difference are set in the regional settings. The object-import plugin in the SR1 release of Poser 7. messed this up, so it wasn't possible to import obj.files which is very inconvienient if you want to make your own morphs, figures or objects. E-F has fixed this by making a new mesh import plug-in, which is available at their website.

Bopperthijs

Hey Thanx for the Response
But, well I think it still leaves me where I came in - but at least it is not only me.
So we await the SR?? that will fix all things and maybe even do breakfast for me as well.
Will stay a bit more in touch with the Renderosity community.
Thanx/Ralph

The only thing I use P7 for is to render because it's much faster at it...I still use P6 for everything else:( I get crashes also with P7....

I love Poser 7, it was however rather cheap the other day when I was making custom morphs for a figure.
Working with magnets for a couple of hours and saving to a PZ3 every ten minutes, when I was done and having removed the magnets I was gonna save the the figure one last time to my PZ3.
It saved in about 1 second and then it wouldnt open again, checked filesize at 437Kb (pretty small for a heavely morphed V4).
Part from that I love it :-)

I've had no problems since installing SR1, knock on wood.
Computer incompatibility with software can be caused by many factors. I can sympathise with people's frustrations.
One thing that really does help though is to save your scene often, this is something I often neglect to do when getting really invovled in a project, but it does help when you have those crashes.
