Hi, can someone tell me if this new hair is a worth buy. Thankspjz99 posted Thu, 15 March 2007 at 2:03 AM
It's by 3dream, and everything I've bought of his has been an excellent investment - I own maybe 7 or 8 hairs by 3dream. That hair looks particularly good, I'm gonna buy it.

yowsers - that's going on my wishlist. I have a couple of 3Dream hairs and they render really well
StevieG1965 posted Thu, 15 March 2007 at 8:38 AM
Wow! That looks HOT!! 3Dream hair is awesome, and well worth the price. That's a new one as well...popped that puppy in my wishlist for next payday!
Darboshanski posted Thu, 15 March 2007 at 9:17 AM
It's the most awesome hair piece he's come up with yet and it's on my wish list as well.
pjz99 posted Thu, 15 March 2007 at 9:33 AM
Bought it, along with a large amount of Stonemason stuff I've had my eye on a while.
AnAardvark posted Thu, 15 March 2007 at 9:42 AM
I think I'll wait until there are V3 fits for it...
pjz99 posted Thu, 15 March 2007 at 9:49 AM
While it may be that he has some exclusive agreement with DAZ to not offer such, you could certainly contact him and ask. Or you could just resize the hair yourself, it hasn't been all that difficult for me for a lot of hairs. Wardrobe Wizard also can convert hair, if you happen to own that, and a few other tools out there will do it.
StevieG1965 posted Thu, 15 March 2007 at 10:19 AM
Trust me, wait a few days when the color add-ons hit, cause with hair like this, I see many add-ons in the works...someone is bound to include a set of different hair fits for it. But, as pjz said, it's not really too difficult to resize the hair, just don't conform the hair to the model. Adjust, resize and then parent the hair to the model.

Hi Click, I bought it today and I am very happy with it. The colors are beautiful and there a lot of styles included (from short to very long).

Thanks a lot
I will buy it tomorrow.
Valerian70 posted Fri, 16 March 2007 at 5:41 AM
Well worth it, I bought it last night and immediately had to have a "play" with it - I just can't resist hair models it seems.
Very impressive it is too, renders beautifully and the movement is natural, especially the whippe dup morphs - great for windy days or beneath the sea in a nice warm water current :o)
Vex posted Fri, 16 March 2007 at 8:39 AM
Could you guys post some renders with it?
$23+ is a lot to spend on 1 item. I hate the way DAZ promos are going lately, here: we'll show you her feet and hands, but not her makeup and eye options.
Or like the hair, "here's 3 colors, but what we're really marketing is the face"
Valerian70 posted Fri, 16 March 2007 at 9:02 AM
I just did some some small renders to see how it rendered out and then dumped them so I've nothing at the moment to show you. I am notoriously tight and only spent this much without a lot of soul searching because I have yet to be disappointed with a 3Dream hair product. Of course you could always buy it, spend an hour so rendering it and if you don't like it Daz will refund you without any questions asked - got to love that 30 day returns policy! Of course, $23 is a lot in one chunk and annoying to have it tied up in store credit if you didn't like it after all.
I'll check back when I get home and if there are no piccies for you I'll render some fast and dirty ones up for you.
Vex posted Fri, 16 March 2007 at 9:07 AM
Yeah I own a few 3Dream hairs and they are always very nice... But as you said, $23 is a lot in store credit @ DAZ when i spend the majority of my money at Rosity.
Valerian70 posted Fri, 16 March 2007 at 9:26 AM
What is it you want to see? If you say the different styles I may have to kill you - there are a heck of a lot of those, admittedly half are mirrors but even so saves dial twirling frustration. If it's the colours included I can knock up a composite in an hour or so, won't be all fancy but will give you the idea.
Vex posted Fri, 16 March 2007 at 9:41 AM
ah hell just a pic of the library folder would be cool. you dont have to spend a lot of time on it.
just having 1 point of view ( not seeing the back or side or anything ) sucks. more than likely if OOT or other great hair texturists come out with something soon while the hair's still on sale i may grab it.
Valerian70 posted Fri, 16 March 2007 at 10:41 AM
Another OOT hair expansion addict huh ;o)
I can do it whilst the dinner is cooking - leastways thats the plan. Another couple of hours before I get home so someone may even beat me to it.

Click on this teeny version for a full sized one. I did each render at 400 x 300, 72dpi, ibl lighting but no raytracing. Texture Filtering is on. Poser 7 SR1.
Just some ideas of the poses but all 15 colour options are represented for you.
Hope this helps!

In my experience, you just can't go wrong with anything from 3Dream. '3Dream' on the label of a hair model is tantamount to a flashing sign saying "Buy Me!".
shg0816 posted Fri, 16 March 2007 at 11:24 PM
I have a few of 3Dreams hair and have been more than thrilled with them. I have also bought some of his texture packs and have been happy there as well.
I bought Sensual Hair for V3 and used Wardrobe Wizardto convert it; however, it didn't seem quite right...the sides looked crumpled.
For those that re-sized Sensual hair, what settings did you use?
Also, I noticed 3Dream has charcters for sale. Specifically, I am looking at the Kimshara packs. If anyone has them, what do you think of them?
Thanks

I resized it by just resizing it a little. I found the following to give a reasonable fit:
X Scale 94%
Y Scale 100%
Z Scale 96%
X Tran 0.000
Y Tran -0.129
Z Tran 0.034
The PARENT it to the V3's head and off you go.
These aren't perfect and I only spent 5 minutes fiddling to get them so you will probably need to adjust them further yourself.
plus3d posted Sat, 17 March 2007 at 5:44 AM
Thank you Valerian70
It´s easy to fit. I notice that one of included morphs - HeadSize (Adjust Morph List) - helps a lot to fit on figures like Aiko 3 :)

You know I never even looked in the included morphs, I'm so used to just footling with the trans and scale dials to force a hair on a character that it wasn't created for I just went down that route automatically blush
When I open Poser up for a proper "session" after lunch I'll have a play with the head size dial too. Hopefully this will be one of the easier ones to fit to Miki - for some reason I always have a struggle getting a good fit to Miki's bonce.

Thank you both for the suggestions!! I can't wait until some additional hair colors come out for this

Hi kanshinin
Kimshara by 3Dream is a very beautiful character, but she is for V3. The textures are super detailed as 3Dream´s textures allways are.
