Tired of switching between my Poser 6 and 7 Runtimes whenever I wanted to work on something, I decided to copy my larger P6 Runtime into P7. Everything went well but then when I started P7, I keep getting an error message before I even get to the credits! I reinstalled it and SR1 and it still refuses to work. What should I do?

The "executable error" message.

Ah, it doesn't even matter anymore. My runtime's been decimated and now I gotta reinstall everything all over again....all 50+ gigs of material....

Was the error message "you spend too much time on Poser" ?

I think you went the wrong way around, 1. Backup your Poser 6 Runtime. So you have a copy to restore to if something goes wrong. 2. Copy your Poser 7 Runtime into your Poser 6 Runtime. On the Mac ditto it in. This will overwrite all the old Poser 6 Runtime Files with the new updated Poser 7 Files if they have the same name. 3. Rename Poser 7 Runtime, something like Runtime7Fresh. So you have a copy to restore to if something goes wrong. 4, Rename the merged Poser 6/7 Runtime to Runtime. This worked for me.

Thanks guys...I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Runtime needed a bit of tidying up anyway (I run Poser off an external drive in case of system crashes). I got a free weekend so I'll have everything back in its place in no time.

The only things you should have copied over should have been the Geometries, Libraries, Python, and Textures folders.
Overwriting any of the other P7 folders with the P6 version will cause problems.
