Hello,
we want to announce that Alice will become available again for a very short and limited period of time to offer a chance to all those that wanted her to get her.
We're sorry that some people, loyal customers and Aery Soul's fans, couldn't get her and we decided to put her again on sale for 3 days: 6, 7 and 8 April.
We're announcing this with some advance notice so even those that stop in here every once in a while may have the chance to see it.
So, if you didn't get Alice but wanted her (or have a friend that wants her or such) this is the one chance to get her!
Thanks!
As Shanim & Siliphiel

I don't get this. They took her off because the say she was so bad they didn't want to sell her..
Then re-release this "sub-standard" (their words, not mine) model to their "loyal costomers".
And ask people to pay for a model that was so bad that they felt compelled to take off market soon after release.
Don't get me wrong, I have Alice and she's great. Just don't understand the logic of rewarding loyal costomers by making them pay for something they consider un-sellable.

Regardless of how puzzling this act is, there are those that are very keen to get their hands on Alice.
I didn't realise they pulled the figure because of it's quality. I heard some hub-bub about Alice looking too young and therefore breaching Daz TOS...or something. Shows what I know!
If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards...checkmate!
drifterlee posted Thu, 22 March 2007 at 12:31 AM
I did not think she looked any different than those other girls by Aery Soul.
ashley9803 posted Thu, 22 March 2007 at 2:17 AM
I was completely wrong in my assumptions about why Alice was removed from sale.
Aery Soul has pointed out to me that this was not the reason (sub-standard) for her removal.
My apologies to Aery Soul. As we are all aware it's hard to find anything that surpasses the quality of their products, models or clothes.

Yeh, weird maybe Cassette but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
The whole Alice thing is something unusual, but the community, it seems, is asking for her to make a re-appearance. Can't hurt.

I had never seen the character. But I do remember some posts where people were saying it was because of flack that they were getting about how thin the character was.
I personally don't like anorexic-like characters, but people are all different in shape and size, and there is a market for all shapes from skinny to not so skinny types.
If there is a market for their "Alice" character, then they shouldn't worry about what some people may say about her shape. So long as it's within the TOS, why shouldn't they sell it in their store?

No. It's ok here. If it was a vendor advertising their product then we would move it. This is only a thread from one member to other members giving them the heads up. Just make sure it doesn't turn into an advert and it can stay here :)

If you think Alice is thin, take a look at the naked Teagan by Thorne and Sarsa. I bought her and was appalled. She looks like a Nazi concetration camp survivor. Young girls are not that thin. I have two daughters. My youngest was thin as a child and teen, but looked healthy. I think someone needs to place Thorne and Sarsa's Teagan in foster care to fatten her up, LOL!

You couldn't have seen many Nazi concentration camp survivors, Teagan looks nothing like those emaciated, starving, and abused women. Let's not trivialize those holocaust victims by using them for something as mundane as comparing them to a mesh...show a little respect for them and the suffering they endured.
Teagan is definately Thorne and Sarsa's recognizable and popular waifish body shape that is frequently used to for fae and other mythical humanoids. Nothing wrong with it, but if it's not to your liking you can certainly feel free to create your own morphs to mold her into your vision of the "perfect" shape.
It's all fun and games...

For me this isn't the polemics. Too much emanciated? Feed her. What are dials for?
The polemics is the credibility of one of the best Poser designers. It sounds like a weird vending operation. 'Now I sell Alice, now I retire her due ununderstanding reasons and no longer available and apologize, now I sell her again'. Good for people?

I don't understand about people complaining about her being too thin either. If you don't like her body shape, don't use the morphs. The skin is absolutely amazing and you can do your own morphs (or at least the software allows you too, even if you never take advantage of that fact).
ashley9803 posted Mon, 02 April 2007 at 4:29 PM
This one's got whiskers on it.
AS has made the model available again, their reasoning is unimportant.
If you want it, go get it, if you don't then well, don't.
I have Alice and I think it's a good character. We're talking about zeros and ones here,
"she" can't be too thin as "she" doesn't exist.

I am very excited about getting her. I think she is lovely in the new Braids hair. That was the first I time I had seen her. When I saw she was pulled after finding out who was in the hair ad, I was crushed.......so I went on a hunt until I found out I can get her in a few days. YIPPEE!!!

Though I'm an AS fan and I have supported them for a while by buying quite a lot of their products (and yes, I purchased Alice the first time around), this sets off alarms in my head.
Make morph, sell 500+, pull it off, create big controversy over pulling it off and continue showcasing it in all their renders, creating huge demand then put it back for sale for a limited time only. I guess it's a great way to hype something up for sales but it just looks bad IMO.

This is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't times. I just take it as a generous offer and leave it at that. I was surprised at the controversy around the model.

But she does seem to have issues with her eyes, or at least they look very strange to me. Kinda interesting body though, so maybe i will get her anyway lol.

Nice to see that Aery Soul have done exactly what i predicted !!!
"my post from when alice was first pulled,
Now i do like the AS stuff and respect them as really good creators, but maybe this is a marketing ploy ? Maybe Alice wasn't selling as high as they wanted so they pull her for mysterious "personal" reasons to generate interest in the character then release her again and more people will buy it because of a) the increased interest and b) incase its taken down again...
Im probably wrong in thinking this, but it is a valid marketing strategy"
Maybe now Aery Soul will make the money they wished they gotten from her first release !!! :|

I don't think it is a ploy because in the original thread AS said that Alice was their best selling product with over 500 units at that time so 19.99 * 500 is a nice piece of change $$You might as well PAY attention, because you can't afford FREE speech

Aery_Soul have business coming out of their ears. I can't see them doing something like this for any kind of trick to make more sales, they don't have any problems selling things.
drifterlee posted Fri, 06 April 2007 at 9:55 PM
What I can't understand is why the product was pulled when all their other products are still in the RMP. Why 3 days only??
pjz99 posted Sat, 07 April 2007 at 1:46 AM
I don't know that "pulled" is really what happened, they've stated several times in their forum that they took Alice down themselves. They also took down at least a couple of other products besides - my absolute favorite item EVER, the ponytail, is no longer for sale anywhere. I don't completely regret that, as I'm proud to have such a wonderful, powerful hair item and it looks like it's going to be pretty unique except for those that already had it ;)
Maybe it was a strange choice of words, I don't know ^_^

Here's the problem for me - the character was available at DS. The reason for removal far too esoteric for my understanding. The figure reappears. It's $20.00. Expensive. & apparently with come changes so original purchasers can redownload the character with the changes ( whatever they are) For 3 days.
It makes me fear I can't trust the developers for continued support. Nor can I trust them for continuing support of any new figure.
I know I have a choice. My question has to do with marketing and developer reliability.
