Greetings,
I have owned a Sony DCR TRV-11 camcorder for about 5 years.
When I used it recently, the recording had poor sound quality. I called Sony
to find out what might have caused that. That question is still unresolved.
During that phone call, I also tried to get their explanation of the difference
between SP (60 minutes) and EP (90 minutes) on a Mini DV tape.
The rep claimed that "SP is more highly compressed than EP". As I thanked
the rep for that explanation, I pointed out that the correct explanation is that
EP mode has higher compression than SP -- therefore smaller image file size.
I shouldn't have been surprised that I couldn't get that idea across.
Does anyone have similar experiences?

LOL, all too often. Try explaining technical questions to "English speaking" QuarkXPress phone reps contracted out to somewhere in India. I feel like I sometimes know more than they do. I'm reminded of that whole cashier thinking a $2 bill was fake issue... ;']
