I am rendering a picture to screen, resolution 2666x 3999. I was going to render to disk but got a message telling me that various options I had chosen, were not compatible with rendering to disk.
My problem is that I can stop the render and the resume render information is saved, I can immediately resume the render and that works fine, but if I actually save the file and close the program when I reopen I can reload the picture but once I start to resume render it crashes.
Any ideas? I am using Vue 6 infinite final, with latest patch.
Cheers, Susan

I haven't experienced this, Susan, will try and see if there is a bug in this option after the current render finishes.

Rather than stopping/resume a render, I use the external standalone render. That way, you can still use the computer, as long as you don't hog too much of the processor.

I tested this, and I had no problem resuming. I was rendering to disk, though, not to screen.

Thanks people:) Peggy I had forgotten about the external, standalone renderer, I will give it ago. Bruno thanks for trying, I really appreciate it!
Its, funny I started the render from the beginning again and was able to save and then reload, so I thought 'oh, must have been a corrupt file' but then two thirds through it happened again. This time I am just leaving it on till it finishes and hopfully it wil save ok. I am using alot of 'glow' in the textures, don't know if this has effected it. Anyway thanks again.

Hmmm.. glow has always been a problem, but I have not heard (yet?) of this being a problem with resuming a render.

Actually I have just worked out part of what is happening. When I resume the render the screen is coming up at the wrong size and that is causeing the crash. On my screen the image is rendering at 25% of the total size and this fills the screen, but sometimes when I try to resume render from a saved file the screen 'window' comes up as landscape or smaller, or different proportions than the original and then it crashes.

You should report that error to e-on tech support. Sounds like something that should be fixed in one of the next updates. I dont use resume so i have not yet had such an issue, but as it sounds I am sure this will happen to other users, too - sooner or later.
