as per karen1573's advice, i'm making some suggestions and requests due to some issues i've encountered as a member of the critique group.  it's been a wonderfully positive experience, and there are just a few things that could make it even better.

the first is a bit of a change in the notifications you get when one of your favorite artists posts a new image.  it would be very helpful if that notification included the comments you recorded when you added the artist.  and i think everyone could benefit if any tags on the image (nudity and/or violence) were included.

i'd also like to suggest the galleries be changed.  in my opinion, the gallery would be much improved by eliminating all of the user ranked ways of viewing.  as the head of JPG magazine said at sxsw, there's no game if there's no scoreboard. JPG is a print publication containing photographs partially chosen by community vote.  there seems to be a general consensus that people are gaming the ranking systems so much that they're meaningless.  i suggest a system  more like what JPG Magazine uses.  they do keep track of user votes, but they don't post rankings.   editorial staff still makes the final decisions on content.

karen1573 mentioned that 5 mods monitor each gallery.  i'd rather see various galleries picked by staff, possibly influenced by comments, ranks and favorites, than i would what's presently in place. even a single editor can provide a much broader, more interesting and more eclectic view of the galleries than a simple popularity contest.  and it could help you promote your brand, as it has at daz3d.

thanks for your time.
