Attached Link: Sakura Blossoms
Hi everyone,,I am looking for someone who can create a sakura blossom (flower) only. These are the blossoms of the famous cherry blossom trees of Japan..see link to image
It has to have poseable petals and work in Poser PP, or 5
Not asking for free, will pay reasonable to someone interested in doing it via their paypal account, etc.
And yes you keep copyright, etc..I just need it for a movie.
The reason I want the petals poseable is so i can make a group of them perhaps for trees and them not all look exactly the same .. aka variety :o)
By the way I have been in some other forums where others are looking for one as well..might be a good item for you to market..as I have yet to find one anyplace.
I am aware of xfrog..but I can't see paying $120 USD for just a flower..lol

they bloomed here last month (global warming) I wonder if somebody has a freebie link
radstorm posted Thu, 29 March 2007 at 12:23 AM
I doubt it nancy..I have looked everywhere,,there is lots of images..of course..but no actual working realistic looking prop of one.
I need it pretty realistic for closeup shots, etc
Of course it is a unique flower, not to be confused with the American, etc cherry tree blossom :o)
And of course also i would be thriiled to find a free one.. lol

I have seen many Sakura models, but none of them were posable. You could convert a good model into be posable. You could even convert a model into a cloth in the cloth room (make good use of constrain and ridged) and run "wind" on it to create a breeze if you're up to experimenting. (Might want to render your picture upside down though because poser gravity with convert your trees into willows.) Hmm... maybe I should try this.... ;) You can do a search for Sakura here: http://mystic-nights.com Daz also has cherry trees models. And then there also switching to Vue and Bryce to do your scene. bB

Content Paradise gave away a free shade version. PoserClub Japan has the sakura petals version.

Ty for the reply Bast,,
1: I have no clue how to use the materials room..lol
2: I have the cherry tree blossom prop from Daz..but when you zoom to the flowers..they are just distorted and look fake.
Of course the ones on xfrog's DVD (not the billboard) are nice, but as I said..I do not see the point spending that much on their DVD..for just the one flower.
I simply want the flower.not the whole tree.. :o)
It will fall from the sky into my Japanese girl charactor's hand..and when she looks at it..I want to zoom in on it.. for a closeup. Later I will pose many of them on a bared tree.
Well that's a long story there , but it's part of the mini movie's story..don't want to give away the whole story..you know :o)
The movie will be a free one for people to download..not one you have to buy tickets to see..heh heh

Thanks inifnity..
I do not own Shade..but I do visit PoserClub Japan sometimes..nice free stuff there..even though I have no clue what the site is saying .. lol
But heck they were nice enough to let me join :o)

It's not a posable one, but very beautiful model(See Yoshino cherry).radstorm, I feel your image is fantasic. But cherry flower does not fall whole flower, just each petals(at least common cherry flower like your referenced picture).
Cherry blossoms will be full bloom this weekend here Tokyo:-)

p.s. In my site, distributing whole cherry tree model now. Not good one, lol

Thank you, h-kana for reply;
Yes I know real they fall as blossom, but I do not want to be too realistic.
Remeber I say it falls from the sky, not a tree :o)
I got inspired by this after talking to my friend in Japan, and reading legends about the tree such as good man, bad man.
And also the lovely song.
Anything that can bring so many people together peacefully and happily can never be a bad thing :o)
To bad the whole world can't see the sakura better.
Thanks for the link also..very nice plants..
As for your site..nothing wrong with your tree, and excuse me while I leech your files..lol
That castle is awesome!
Maybe still one of the Poser gurus here can visit that plant site..and use it as a base to make one poseable..for reference of course..not to hack it

Oh yea! Thanks for the link.
So flower is the focus not the tree. Sounds like a nice animation.
Did you know the famous Cherry Trees in Washington DC were a gift from Japan? ^^
Okay. Awhile back I ran across a gorgeous Sakura Flower freebie. It was a lightwave model in lwo format. It was a Japanese website and it had items for sell too. I remember it being tricky to download, like you had to register with the store first and the site was all Japanese. There were several very cool models there (like a school girl penny loafer shoe?). I don't have a site link though. :(

Yes thanks for the link infinity..liked the trolly car there too..never know when I meet one of those :o)
learning a lot of new sites now.., with very nice items
Bast..yes I did, back in the very early 1900s I think
National park service is pretty protective of them too..but then again since the days of George Wahington..we have been a bit chop crazy..lol
lwo would be ok,, as I can just convert it :o)
Still hoping though someone can just come up with an original around here..I am sure somebody can..
well except me .. lol

BastBlack, Is this the site you visited? If so, thereis no sakura flower, but plum flower. Unfortunately, his freebie is for a limited time only. I bought some models from his site, they are very excellent.Hatsumi

Hatsumi,
Yes, That's the site! Thanks so much for the link. It's a plum flower? Oopsie. It's very pretty.

radstorm,
Your best bet, imho, is to use Tucan's Cherry in the foreground with the figure.
http://toucan.web.infoseek.co.jp/3DCG/3ds/FlowerModelsE.html
In the background use Daz cherry trees:
http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=3131
And sakura petals blowing in the wind:
http://jazy.eek.jp/indexdl.htm
Pretty. ^^
Also...
Poser billboard cherry trees:

Or if you own Vue or Bryce, use cherry tree billboards:
http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=47090&
And You could also use an existing Vue scene:
http://www.expandingwave.com/galleries/vuestuff/vuescenes.htm
I think I saw a Vue scene put together with Mt Fuji somewhere....
Do you have a Mt Fuji DEM?
bB
h-kana posted Sat, 31 March 2007 at 10:16 AM
Sorry, Japanese DEM data is not free now. Geographical Institute Survey publishes DEM and restricts its usage.
You can purchase DEM from GIS but I feel it's bit pricey.
http://www.gsi.go.jp/ENGLISH/MAPS/map-geo.html
I recommend to try Japanese EF's tutorial.
http://content.e-frontier.co.jp/e-on/efimage/srtm_dem.html
Written in Japanese and for Vue5, but maybe you can translate it.
The page says:
1.Get SRTM from NASA site. Japanese data is in Eurasia folder and Fuji mt. data is in N35E138.hgt.zip.
Hope this helps:-)
