This was another scene that had to be rendered in two pieces due to texture memory limitations. The fact that there were a fair number of lights involved probably contributed to the problem.
I think that 64 bit Windows can address 4 gig of memory, can't it? Of course, the code for Poser and Carrara would have to be re-written to take advantage of that.

LOL that's too funny!

64 bit Windows can address far more than 4 GB (8 TB AFAIK).
Poser 7 is still a 32 bit app, but it's compiled with the LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE flag, so it can use up to 3 GB on a Windows 32bit system, and up to 4 GB on Windows 64 bit.
If you want Poser 7 to use 3 GB on Windows XP, you'll have to edit the BOOT.INI file and add the /3G flag. Doesn't work in XP Home, only in XP Pro and 2003 Server. It may work in Windows 2000 Workstation/ Server, I'm not sure.

Oh-ho! Cool. I'll have to tinker with that. I only have 2 gig at the moment, but I notice that Poser dies the minute it gets to about 1.3 gig usage. If it can be bumped to 1.6 gig, that'd help a lot.
Next machine will for sure have at least four gig, if not 8. Memory troubles have cost me countless hours of headaches.
Thanks!

Gordon, ah there is one Major Problem with your latest model of a Really Fancy Restaurant! Like where is it located? Like come on dude, like give us an address. Or are you going to be selfish and keep the cute girls and the good food and drink to yourself?? Plus how did AAA dinning rate your Restaurant and more importantly your Render? Do you think it will make, I think it is spelled Zygote's Restaurant Guide? Oh BTW another good one. Thanks a ton for the humor!
