This afternoon I saw one for a good price and nearly on a wim bought it, but then I thought about my overdraft and sense kicked back in.   I still like it I have read some reviews it gets Highly Reconmended by D P Review and Steves Digicam site likes it.  Has any one got one here? Or does anyone had the use of one. Yes I trust your opions as I think you will tell it how it is, I'm never to sure how much the reviewers  are paid to say good things by the makers.

I don't know if there are any A100 owners out there, but everything I've read about it makes it sound like a VERY good camera.

I bought a SONY A100 back in December, and I love this camera. I'm new to this realm of digital photography (graduated from point and click camera), and the A100 is awesome to use. The link below is to one of my first pictures with the A100. I was able to acheive true dof with ease. I just took some gorgeous pics at Deception Pass using a 300mm lens, and the detail is incredible. If you decide to get the A100, get it with the 18-70mm zoom lens- it is a great combination. I hope this helps.- Starkdog

I've had the a100 for about 5 months now and think it's a great cam. It's lightning fast in allot of respects.

My only complaint (and this is a well documented issue with the a100) is high ISO and extended exposure shots produce noise. In fact just a week ago, I was shooting at night with some 7min exposures and they all came out so noisy they are useless. High ISO like 800 and 1600 also produce allot of noise. Though it starts around 400, it's easily removed with 3rd party programs like noise ninja (which I use).

Aside from the noisy ISO issue, as long as you don't plan on shooting quality images in low light (without a flash) or do looong exposures (seems 2-3 minutes and the noise isnt bad at all) then it's an awesome DSLR camera.

I'm waiting for the new bodies to come out from sony in june/july but will always have and use my a100.

Btw i got the 18-70kit version and I have a flickr gallery of all a100 shots here
