I need to morph Sydney so she looks like bjork (just the head). No skin textures are needed (for the head or body),  just a great look-alike in shape. I will pay if anyone can come up with a good one :)

What's a "bjork"?

This is Bjork, the artist, from Iceland :)

Ahhh, the one with the really weird voice who can't sing?  I haven't heard that name for years, I thought she was long gone from the music industry by now.  I remember hearing one song and I thought my ears were going to bleed,  lol

I did find this in the Marketplace - LK-Daphne V4 - change the hair and the eyecolor, and I think it might work. I could probably use V4 instead of Sydney. What do you think?

I think with her you either love her or hate her :)

Acadia posted Thu, 10 May 2007 at 1:05 AM

The nose is too small and too narrow. The images you posted show a wider flatter bridge and a wider tip/nostril area.  If you could adjust the nose, it could work.

I agree - I think I'll go with this - I tried to morph sydney on my own, and she came out looking like a troll. I guess I need to practice more, but I'll get to that someday.

Honestly, I think Sydney would be a much better starting point than V4 to make Bjk, but of course that would involve skill in making characters, which I don't have either... shrug

I wanted to try out Silo 2 Beta anyway. It can create morphs, so I fiddled around a bit. Not really good,  I fear. What do you think?

Very nice :) She looks human, unlike when I was playing with morphs :)

Do you like Silo 2? I haven't used it, I've been plugging along with Hexagon, but I know some people have switched to Silo.

I like it very much. It has many more features than 1.4, and even that version is great. You can download a fully funktional 30-Day version and try it yourself. Silo is polygons and SDS only, no NURBS, but it is really fast and works great. I bought the full version yesterday. 1.4 could not generate morphs for poser, since it changed the vertex order.

Do you think it looks a bit like Bjork? What else should I change?

Better? Worse?

I think I have to repair the eyelids. They are looking strange. I worked on the lips and the jaw. Still it does not really look good to me. Any ideas?

Try FaceShop Pro, available through Daz. It can come up with the basics with just one picture. It can get the eye/mouth/eyebrow/cheekbone proportions right with little effort.

However, to get Bjork's distinctive eyelids, you're gonna hafta learn how to use P7 morph tools, or get Zbrush.

*LOL @ Acadia ..... didn't she make a fashion statement once by wearing a pair of swan wings to some awards show ?

I'm a big fan of FaceGen myself. When I saw this post and spotted the nice straight-on photo I looked on Google Images and found a profile. With those two images you can generate a really decent 3D head in a couple of minutes complete with texture maps and even morphs (although the morphs are pretty goofy if you are facile with a decent modeler like Modo you can pretty easily tweak them and get good blendshapes).

I timed myself and came up with this (admittedly rough) quick Bjork model in less than 20 minutes. I imported the head into Poser 7 as an OBJ prop and parented it to a Vicky neck and then made the Vicky head/eyes/tongue invisible. This allows you to pose your model as the Bjork head moves appropriately with the neck. If I want a different expression its easiest to trade out one of the morphed targets created in FaceGen.

I included the wire preview so you can see that FaceGen does a nice mesh in quads. Voila.

Obviously, with a little bit of time and effort you could do much much better but I find the hardest part is always getting a decent head mesh with textures and FaceGen is pretty much the bomb in that regard. By tweaking the nose and eyes you could have a fairly convincing model I believe.

Bantha - I had the same problem with the eyelids, the thickness distorts when moving the eyes around, I tried using the morph tool, which helped a little, but not enough.

TheDoctor - amazing work, and in so little time! I will check out FaceGen - for my purposes, the mesh shape will be most important because the figure will not have a skin texture. My only concern with this method is being able to use talk designer with the new head.

Another try....  I think I am getting closer. Shall I continue or do you prefer FaceGen?

FaceGen has produced a stunning likeness. With a more accurate hairstyle, you could produce a Bjork video!

Hmm, a pop video with Bjork in the Bethesda game 'Oblivion'... somebody ought to put it to her....

bantha posted Sat, 12 May 2007 at 12:34 PM

You have one picture, that from the front, which looks a bit like her. Is it a standard texture or something which FaceGen has created? My model is much more like the original with a björk texture too, but since Discoseven asked for a model without a texture.

Do me a favor, will you? Please post a picture without hair, from the front, with a basic texture like i did it with mine. I really would like to be able to compare.
