Hi,
Does anyone have any tips on how to create an underwater view of an iceberg? I am doing an above and below picture, I can create the above and below no problems, but having trouble shaping the bottom of a terrain, any ideas or tips?
Cheers
Jon

Maybe use a symmetrical terrain?

Hi,
Thats what I thought originally but because I have clipped my terrain at the bottom, when I make it symmetrical their is a gap between the terrains.

A way around this would be to make 2 copies. They must be copy/pasted so they are in the same place. 'Boolean difference' the bottom half of one and the top half the other with a cube. Then you can move the remaining halves together. Since most of an iceberg is below the waterline the lower half can be stretched. It is also possible to edit the lower half to make the shape different, as long as the editing stays away from the edges.
Play with this technique and you can find a way to make the overhang that most bergs have above the water.

You could use a terrain above and a rock below combined using the same shader.

Well, an iceberg is in nature one object. So to do it in one object should be possible here too. How about a symmetric teraain that is turned up so that one border is pointing out, and the symmetry is lying in the plane that points to the camera. And therefore not really visible.
One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.

Which material do you use for ice? If you just take "snow" you'll get nor more than a snowball, but ice has also blue parts.
