The set clearly states that when using firefly I might experience this problem:

Says:
"""Important note when using the firefly renderer...

Due to the nature of the firefly render some of the transparent 2D
props in this package may render with slight black streaks. This is
easily fixed by setting the displacement to 0.01 in Poser 5 for the
object and attaching to the displacement node. Poser 4 users and
Poser 5 users rendering with the Poser 4 renderer will not notice
any streaks."""

So I went to add a displacement node - but which one???  Or what type?  I am using Poser6 btw.

Thanks in advance.

A quick answer... Please refer to your

You can connect math nodes to the displacement channel, but more often a simple b/w image map is connected to it.

I didn't even understand what you said. All she's looking for is the name of the node that she is supposed to connect to the displacement node in the Poser Surface window.

Does she use the Image_map node and connect a grey scale image of the texture map she used?

If you want an all-over displacement to the planes, to stop these black lines, then a simple white node of any description should do it. The easiest would be to use a simple color node from the maths submenu, and choose white.

Now, the other question to raise is, which units is the vendor using when he says 0.01? ther's a big difference between inches, centimetres, metres and PNU.

I'm 50% of the vendorship

If you go to my webiste at www.digitaldesktops.biz you will see a Tutorials link in the menu.  It is listed there (5th one down) showing screenshots.  They are for P5 but the nodes are the same in 6 and 7.  This is for using billboard props but the actions are the same for the backgrounds.

You could have contacted me directly and would probably have got a much quicker response.

 That's what quick answers usually cause... Alas, my long answers are even worse to understand.
Since displacement is not thought to have any other input then displacement data, i.e. values for vectors, you can connect either a b/w picture to it or math nodes. Connecting any color information to it won't do any good except that colors are more information that will require more memory.
That and the difference to Bump are the reason why the pages from said Poser manuals are listed instead of explaining in detail what displacement is or what kind of input it does expect.

It wasn't urgent.  But thanks for the link.
