Is it possible to veiw objects as solid rather than a lattice or wire frame in 5.5 while I'm working on the image?

If memory serves me, on the far right of your working window there is a small cube wireframe...click on that and it changes display modes, from wireframe to solid, and one other, I'm not sure of...................=)

Try going to the cube in the menu on the right of the editor and holding down the second mouse button. A small popup menu appears. Try choosing "OpenGL".
