Hello all,
Is it possible to create a new figure with the head of P6James joined onto the body of Michael 2 within Poser 6 or 7, and have the new figure retain all the morph chanels with his face morphable in the P6 (and/or P7) Face Room ?
Or, if P6 or P7 isn't adequate to accomplish the task, what other programs can be used to do the job?
Your inputs are much appreciated!

1- Load both your figures.
Turn all the James body groups invisable except the head and neck and eyes. Turn the M2 head/eyes/upper neck invisable.
Line up James to match his head and neck to M2's neck.
Use a magnet/magnets to get the necks to blend.
Now there are 2 ways to finish.
a - Export the james head/neck/eyes and M2's body groups except the head/eyes/upper neck, out as a wavefront object with the box checked in image. Name it JamesM2 and Save in what ever folder of your choice.
Open the M2 CR2 and change 2 lines that will point to the new object
figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:ZygotePeople:blMilMan.obj
Change to
figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:Your folder:JameM2.obj
Scoll down a bit and you will find another line that you need to do the same to.
Save your new Cr2 as JamesM2.Cr2 so you don't overwrite your original M2 file.
You will need MorphManager to transfer the head morphs of James to the JamesM2 head.
b - Save the figures back into your library as JamesM2 and then open That Cr2 in what ever text editor your want and cut out the body parts you don't want.
2 - This is the methode I use most of the time.
After you line up the 2 figures export thier necks.
Save the poser file for later use.
Import the 2 necks into a modeling app and combine them. You will most likely have to do some cutting and add a vert or two to bridge the necks together.
Open your saved PZ3 and delete both figures necks and import your new neck.
Everything should fit in place. Then do step A with the new neck instead of the originals.
That is how I do it.
Now I can't say if the face room will work on this hybrid but you could use your normal James in the face room and save the morph then use it on the JamesM2 head. Or it might only take renamong the JamesM2 object and Cr2 to the same as the original James BUT make sure you have this in a different folder. You do not want to overwrite your original James.
Now, the textures are not going to match. So you will need to do some postwork on the neck to blend them.

Beryld! Thanks for the quick tutorial. Wow, you make it sound so simple. I know people have done these things before, but you've just openned my eyes to a world of possibilities!
Many thanks! And thanks to Pixara for asking a question who's answer must have frightened me so that I never bothered to explore it.
I love forums.
happy dance

Your welcome.
I have been frankenstiening figures for years, so for me it is simple. Once you do it a couple of times, you'll find it easier too. Just remember It's easier to use the body Cr2 Instead of the heads Cr2. You will have less joints to adjust if needed. It would only be the neck and head if you do need to adjust something.
Side note. If the necks don't work or look quite right. Check the weld box on exporting too. You could just export both morphed necks out with weld and then import the new neck in before the main figures export also.
Many tricks, just practice and use what ever way works best for you.
