i recently baught pwghost plugin and cant figure out how to use it. does anyone know how to make it work. getting really frustrated.

You just need to locate it in the contents folder and click on the Icon whilst having made sure you have highlighted the character/item in the contents pane AND in the surfaces panel.
I think that makes sense,if it doesn't scream and I'll try some screen shots for you.

I have it also and it wont work for me either and I have been doing the
above. I also got pwSurface and pwEffect none of them work for me.
I have DAZ Studio I probably need Poser. dont know.
The other problem is if you get it to work will it transfer to Bryce?

No it doesn't transfer to Bryce. I'll try and set up a screen print tut later for you... .Can't do it know as I'm just checking mail before preparing dinner.

Talking to DAZ I now have everything working.
I was seelecting the surface wrong.
I now have to just set these items up in DAZ learn the studio lighting
and render to a file. the only problem I see now is not
having the use of Bryce for the scene set up.

A word of caution, these can take a LONG time to render!

Tell me about it.
I have render times of up to 4 days of corse I am rendering
to the largest allowed by DAZ.
In Bryce I render to 13"x17" @ 300dpi

Yarg! I doubt I could do that on my pc. I tend to make my stuff fairly small to cut render times down to an hour or so. With pwEffect though, that may change.
Speaking of Bryce, how does one change size and resolution perameters?

Working in Brice::
Files: Document setup
for example
I set pix size: 880x570 For Design work
Rendering to Disk::
Files: Render to disk:
when I render that above work I set
output resolution to 100
output size in inches 17x11
You can set to what will do for your pix.

Thank yah kindly! I was trying to set it from the side panel, and that seemed very limited.
As to pw effect, I've heard some say it can mimic subsurface scattering for skin textures. Can it? and if so how? I'm not familiar with subsurface scattering, and do not have pf Surface to compare.
Speaking of pwSurface, anyone use it and what's the concensus on it?
Lighthorse posted Thu, 19 July 2007 at 10:00 PM
There are differances.
I have the whole set
Surface
Effects
Ghost
Partical3
They are cool and have some nice effects.
I do not like to render in DAZ because of the limatations.
So I do not use them much. I can achieve most of that in Bryce in Mat Settings.
I do have a scene with Partical3 It can be seen in my Gallery.

Partical3 only works in Poser :-(
I prefer Bryce For 90% of my Renders.
