As the final Springtime ingredients are combined in the seasonal mixing bowl, the oven is fired up and ready to bake.
Yes, it's time for the haiku challenge to move into the heat of Summer; let's just hope it doesn't burn.

If you're new to the haiku challenge the idea is to fashion together a 5-7-5 syllable haiku using the last word of the previous haiku as the first word of the next.

Summer, hot and dry:
Shoves poor Springtime out the way;
Everyone must fry.

Oh, how I wish it was as warm as I suggest; since the haiku seasons are opposite for me I'm sitting here shivering in an ice-box of a room with chattering teeth and partially frozen fingers.
Still, one can dream. :rolleyes:
