Hi forum Members, I feel honored that, those of you who own or have an interest in Credos Lifeforms, have sought my advice so i thought i would post a brief tutorial here on the fairly simple process of creating an animatable life forms skeleton for use in Credos Lifeforms for any of your poser characters that can be exported back into poser as BHV motion. STEP 1: Load Micheal, or dork, possette even the velociraptor and create a simple animation involving most or all of the body parts

mocap posted Tue, 10 April 2001 at 7:20 PM

STEP:2 export the motion as BHV

mocap posted Tue, 10 April 2001 at 7:26 PM

STEP 3 launch Credos LIfeforms and browse to the location of your poser created BVH file that you just exported. open the BVH in lifeforms and a timeline will be created along with a lifeforms skeleton that is already Joint mapped FOR the poser that gave "birth" to it when you did your simple animation in poser

in life forms this animated skleteon can be edited in the timeline the motion can be thinned or combined with other Motion files for seemless transitions and all with an animation toolset this as powerful as HASH A.M. and when you are done youcan export it as BVH to be applied th the poser character

Be sure to Choose X axis and scale automatically when importing the new BVH back into poser

OH yes and here are the export settings from life forms. remember this is not a total replacement for Key framing but you can created and Apply large general movement and fine tune them with addtional key frames you can also export this motion as a set of lightwave bones for use in lightwave

Heres is a small mpeg (one meg i think) of one of my Lightwave "Mangababes" models I imported heres mesh onto lifeforms an joint mapped A walk motion file that cam with life forms I know she looks a little stiff but consider that i DID no further editing in the lightwave Graph editor and NO arduous Bone weightmap Assignments

Glad to here it!! whats really useful is that once you have this michael, vic or other P4 skeleton saved as a lifeforms file you can always add and refine the animation and apply it to your PoserCharacter later for rendering also if you have Lightwave check the credo website under support there are updated lightwave in/out plugins that appeare to give my seat of lifeforms much more stability when importing the bones from a fully rigged lightwave model Mocap
