Last night I bought Miki from Content Paradise, and it came with a serial number. I didn't need that to install or use Miki, so I was just wondering if anyone knows what it's for?

the serial is for updates etc etc .. to proof you have bought it...
when "you" got the miki figure illigal you dont have the serial and so you cant get a update with a fix orso...
I think its a good thing ..

Yeah, I used my Miki 1 serial to get the Miki 2 upgrade price.

Is Miki 1 still for sale anywhere? I know she's a magazine freebie this month but not available where I live. :-(

No, now it's just Miki 2, I think. This one I got from CP is Miki 2.

LOL
I was so PO'd I canceled my order. I thought they wanted my P7 serial #, and when I put it in it rejected the #.
Now it makes sense... Guess I will go back and get Miki.

It comes with a serial number because the makers of any sort of computer software derive great joy out of making frazzled mothers everywhere keep track of 999999 serial numbers in addition to passwords that MUST include things that aren't in our normal passwords -
and now some programs even have this doohickey called a dongle - I looked into lightwave until I realized I'd have one more thing to keep track of......
all makers of software are ex-husbands and they are evil - bottom line. Models included.
