Hey all,
I am not really a Poser user but hopefully someone here can help me out. When I import a model into Poser in OBJ format the model comes in as one object . How can I have the model come into poser in the individual objects as I modeled them in my 3d app.
In my 3d app , the model is made up of about 7 individual objects but when I export it to OBJ and import it into poser the file comes in as one object. How can I make it come into Poser as the 7 individual objects, importing into Vue 3( I know this is old) works fine.
Any help would be appreciated .
Thanks.
Mike

Poser preserves groups in an imported OBJ mesh, but only allows you to interact with them if you enter the setup room to rig them as a figure. Assuming that wasn't your plan, and that your modeller is assigning group names to your objects, you should export them separately from your modeller or split the groups up in an external utility if that isn't possible. Tedious, I know. :(

Two possibilities:
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter

Thanks for the replies. I am thinking there should be a way other than exporting each object individually, I will try the Group editor/Spawn props which looks like what I was after. I will let you know how it goes.

The Group editor did what I wanted , thanks for the quick answers.
