Some nice stuff, but 3ds props seem rather plasticy in Poser, it there is such a word.

Thanx for this nice resource!

A resource that requires me to permanently install an "ArchiBAR" ("NO SpyWARE!!! REALLY!!!") is not free.

That toolbar thing is odd. They look nice, but is there another way to download without having to install things?

I wasnt required to install anything. if you click the picture of the object on the download page, you are given a download to a zip file with the item in it.

I suppose if I had clicked around a bit, I would of figured that one out LOL. Thanks!

All the downloads I've had from there have had 3DS meshes in them as well as the GSM version (which is an ArchiCAD Library Object, incidentally). I couldn't be sure that was always the case, but don't be put off downloading because of it. You certainly don't need an ArchiBar - doesn't work in Opera anyway. :) One of my downloads didn't contain what it was supposed to, but there wasn't anything suspicious; just a case of mis-packaging, I guess.

There's nothing about 3DS meshes which would make them more or less plasticky than anything else. However Poser tends to assign its own default materials to imported meshes, which always includes a lot of specularity. Get rid of that, a bit of work in the material room, and you should have something perfectly usable.

@ mickmca
I thought you had to download something at first, as well. But you don't. Click on free models, then use the drop down to select a category, then click the filter button. When you've clicked on one of the picture icons, it will take you to a preview page, then click the picture to download. Doing this from faulty memory, so I hope that's the right sequence.

I use the tiles from there. I really like them.

I thought I saw some familiar Other Peoples' items, but I also have vague recollections of an earlier Renderosity thread in which the webmaster answered several queries about those.
And yes, I checked out some of the downloads only to find that some did not have 3D content. I don't think I need anything from there at this time anyway.

I like that on the bottom right of the frontpage -- "Victoria" Chairs collection. Perhaps DAZ should sue for trademark issues.
Thanks for the link.

Well, I spotted several items there that were made by me. As long as the downloads aren't hot-linked to my site, it's not a big deal, but.. if you have made freestuff objects, you might want to sift through some of that. Gee.. first time anything of mine has been swiped. ;)
